How to apply the 24 m² Microcement Kit for concrete stairs
A large staircase is a huge canvas to show off your skills. With this ready-to-use microcement kit, the transformation is in your hands: clean, no building work, and a finish that looks like it came from the pros.
1. Prep the base to perfection
Remove dust, construction residue, or grease. Make sure the steps are dry, solid, and crack-free. If anything’s damaged, repair it before starting.
2. Primer that grips
Roll on one coat of Smart Primer ABS and let it sit for 30 minutes. This ensures the microcement bonds perfectly to concrete or cement surfaces.
3. Base microcement: the foundation of change
Apply two coats of Smart Base: first vertically, then horizontally with the Smart Roller. Smooth with the polycarbonate trowel at a 45° angle. Sand between coats with 40-grit paper and allow 6 hours of drying time between each.
4. Finish microcement: strong and stylish
Two thin coats of Smart Medio will give you a fine, non-slip texture. Sand between coats with 80-grit paper and allow 6 hours to dry each time.
5. Final protection
Mix Smart Varnish with Smart Booster and apply three coats. Sand the first two coats with 400-grit paper. Choose matte or satin finish and let cure for 7 days before using your renewed staircase.

- Keep the trowel at a 45° angle to avoid marks and spread material evenly.
- Thin layers = more professional, crack-free finish.
- Sand by hand to prevent burning the microcement.
- Use the polycarbonate trowel (included in our tool kit) for extra smoothness and zero marks.
- Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.
- Don’t use the stairs during curing time: patience today, enjoyment tomorrow. The varnish reaches maximum resistance after seven days.
