Mega Microcement Kit for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Showers Content - Covers 24 m² of Absorbent Surfaces

In the ready-to-use Mega Microcement Kit for kitchens, bathrooms and showers by Smartcret, designed for 24 m² of absorbent surfaces, you'll find everything needed for a hassle-free renovation. No need for tedious construction or hiring labor; you can do it yourself without any prior experience.

These professional-grade products are perfect for creating decorative coatings on a variety of interior surfaces, including plasterboard, plaster, cement, and concrete.

  • 3 Smart Primer ABS 1 L: Water-based acrylic primer. This product is designed to improve the adhesion between the substrate and the microcement, ensuring even absorption across the entire surface.
  • 6 Smart Base 8 kg: Preparatory ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product with larger granules is applied to the base surface to ensure its consistency. It doesn't provide the final finish.
  • 3 Smart Liso 6 kg: Finishing ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product, applied after Smart Base, has a finer granule size and is responsible for providing the uniform, smooth, and soft aesthetics of the microcement.
  • 3 Smart Varnish 2 L: Ready-to-use water-based polyurethane varnish. It seals and protects the microcement from external agents such as abrasion or water damage. It enhances the color of the new coating and is available in matte and satin finishes.
  • 6 Smart Booster 50 g: Component B which is added to the varnish for enhanced protection against chemical agents, increased hardness, and resistance to abrasion.
  • Sanding discs: Sandpapers with different grains for sanding the various layers of the products included in this Mega Kit. You'll find fifteen 40-grit sandpapers, thirty 220-grit sandpapers, and fifteen 400-grit sandpapers.

Please note that Smartcret offers a separate toolkit for applying microcement, which is not included in this ready-to-use Mega Microcement Kit but is necessary for correctly applying the products. These tools include rollers, a tray, protective masking tape, and a polycarbonate trowel.

Do you want to know if microcement Mega Kit is the best option for your countertop? For bathrooms, absolutely! Thanks to its water resistance (no standing water) and humidity resistance. In the kitchen, we do not recommend it or provide a warranty, but if you decide to try it, keep these considerations in mind:

  1. Extreme heat is a big enemy. Avoid placing hot pans or pots directly on the countertop. Protect it with placemats or boards.
  2. Avoid cutting food directly. Microcement is resistant, but a cutting board is more resistant. Use it to prevent damage to your countertop.
  3. Avoid oil and vinegar stains, they can be a problem if not cleaned in time. Use Smart Cleaner to keep your surface clean and disinfected, and protect it for up to 8 hours with our Smart Varnish and Smart Booster, which provide chemical resistance (see table in the technical data sheet). Prevention is key!

Application of Mega Microcement Kit for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Showers - Covers 24 m² of absorbent surfaces

  1. Ensure the area is free of any cracks, grooves, or imperfections. After necessary repairs are made, ensure it's thoroughly clean and free of grease. Once completely dry, use masking tape to mark the boundaries of the treatment area.
  2. Prepare the surface for treatment. Apply a coat of Smart Primer ABS using a roller. Allow it to dry for 30 minutes.
  3. Time to apply the first layer of microcement. Using the Smart Roller, spread a thin layer (approximately 1 mm thick) of Smart Base microcement, starting with vertical strokes and then switching to horizontal. Then, use the polycarbonate trowel at a 45-degree angle to smooth the surface with arched and multi-directional movements until it's completely smooth. Allow it to dry for 6 hours and sand after each layer with the 40 grit sandpaper. Apply two layers in total.
  4. Continue the same process with Smart Liso, applying it with the Smart Roller and trowel in a thin layer (less than 0.5 mm thick) over the entire surface. Wait for 6 hours before sanding and applying a second layer. You need to sand with 220-grit sandpaper. Remove the masking tape and, as a recommendation, let the surface rest for 24 hours after the last application and sanding.
  5. Mix Smart Booster into the Smart Varnish container. Gently shake the container by hand for a few minutes. While the mixture rests, apply masking tape to any areas needing protection. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Once the Smart Varnish mixture is ready, apply the first coat. The mixture has a shelf life of 24 hours, allowing it to be used for the second and third coats. Each coat should dry for 4 hours. Once the final coat is dry, remove the masking tape. Remember to sand the first and second coats with 400-grit sandpaper. The varnish requires a full 7 days to cure to achieve maximum performance.

*Important: as previously explained, the correct application of Smartcret microcement requires tilting the trowel at a 45º angle. A different angle could alter the appearance of the finish. For this process, the sandpaper grits provided are intended solely for manual sanding. Using an electric sander could burn the material due to excessive pressure.
