This solution is designed to renovate jointed surfaces (tiles, mosaic, floor tiles…) without removing them. Check these four points before choosing size and colour.

Compatible surface

Surfaces with stable joints: tiles, mosaic, floor tiles, terrazzo or marble. This is not the right kit for plaster, drywall or cement substrates.

Coverage

Measure the height × width of each surface. The calculator adds a 10% margin and recommends the right kit size, or a combination for larger projects.

What you need separately

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 14 days from delivery for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and your order number is enough for us. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

Smart Microcement Kit for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Showers Content - Covers 8 m² of Non-Absorbent Surfaces

This ready-to-use Smart Microcement Kit for kitchens, bathrooms and showers is designed to cover 8 m² of non-absorbent surfaces. It includes everything you need for a hassle-free renovation, eliminating the need to remove existing materials. Even without prior experience, you can achieve a stunning transformation on your own.

These top-quality products guarantee a professional finish on various kitchen and bathroom surfaces, such as tiles, mosaic, marble, terrazzo, and more.

This Smart Microcement Kit for kitchens, bathrooms and showers, ideal for 8 m² of non-absorbent surfaces, contains:

1 Smart Jointer 1.5 kg: Tile grout joint filler. It's a high-adhesion, quick-drying filler used to smooth the surface before applying Smartcret's ready-to-use microcement. Resistant to water and ambient humidity.
1 Smart Primer PLUS 1 L: Water-based acrylic primer used to enhance adhesion of Smartcret microcement on non-absorbent surfaces.
1 Smart Base 16 kg: Preparatory ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product with larger granules is applied to the base surface to ensure its consistency. It doesn't provide the final finish.
1 Smart Liso 6 kg: Finishing ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product, applied after Smart Base, has a finer granule size and is responsible for providing the uniform, smooth, and soft aesthetics of the microcement.

1 Smart Varnish 2 L: Ready-to-use water-based polyurethane varnish. It seals and protects the microcement from external agents such as abrasion or water damage. It enhances the color of the new coating and is available in matte and satin finishes.
2 Smart Booster 50 g Component B added to the varnish for enhanced protection against chemical agents, increased hardness, and more resistance to abrasion.
Sanding discs: Sandpapers with different grains for sanding the various layers of the products included in this Smart Kit. You'll find five 40-grit sandpapers, ten 220-grit sandpapers, and five 400-grit sandpapers.

Please note that Smartcret offers a separate toolkit for applying microcement, which is not included in this ready-to-use Smart Microcement Kit but is necessary for correctly applying the products. These tools include rollers, a spatula, protective masking tape, and a polycarbonate trowel.

Are you wondering if you can apply this Mini Microcement Kit to your countertop? You can! Especially in bathrooms, because our microcement is water-resistant (not for standing water) and withstands ambient humidity. However, we do not recommend or guarantee its use in kitchens. If you still want to take the plunge and create your countertop in this space, here are some considerations to keep in mind:

Microcement is not fireproof. Do not place hot pots, pans, or containers directly on it. You could damage the microcement! Use trivets or wooden boards to protect the surface. If you take care of your marble countertop, why should this be any different?
Do not cut food directly on the countertop. It will leave very unattractive marks that will ruin your countertop more than your recipes. Prevent and enjoy!
Be careful with stains! The longer you leave them, the worse they get. Would you leave an oil stain on your granite countertop for days? Don’t do it on microcement either! The winning combination of our Smart Varnish and Smart Booster provides excellent chemical resistance (see table in technical sheet) against oil and vinegar stains for up to 8 hours. But as the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. That’s why we recommend cleaning stains as soon as possible with our Smart Cleaner detergent. Don’t let it pile up!

Application

Application of Smart Microcement Kit for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Showers - Covers 8 m² of Non-Absorbent Surfaces

Clean and degrease the surface. Once dry, tape off the area where the microcement will be applied.
Apply 1 layer of Smart Jointer to fill the grout joints and leave the surface seamless. Let the product dry for 24 hours. Then, sand with a 40-grit sandpaper until the surface is completely smooth.
Prepare the surface for treatment. Use a roller to apply a coat of Smart Primer PLUS. Let it dry for 30 minutes.
Wet the Smart Roller with Smart Base and spread the microcement thinly (less than 1 mm) vertically and then horizontally over the surface. Smooth it out with the polycarbonate trowel in arching and multi-directional movements. Repeat this process until the surface is completely covered and smooth. Allow 6 hours of drying time between layers and sand after each layer with a 40-grit sandpaper to ensure there are no burrs. Apply a total of 2 layers of Smart Base.
Repeat the same process with Smart Liso. Use the Smart Roller and polycarbonate trowel to spread the microcement thinly (less than 0.5 mm) until the surface is covered. Allow 6 hours of drying time between layers and sand after each layer with a 220-grit sandpaper. Remove the tape after application. Apply a total of 2 layers of Smart Liso. Let it dry for 24 hours after the last layer.
Add the Smart Booster to the Smart Varnish container. Gently shake the container manually for a few minutes. While the mixture rests, apply tape to the necessary areas. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes.
Once the Smart Varnish mixture is ready, apply the first coat of the microcement sealer. The mixture has a shelf life of 24 hours, allowing it to be used for the second and third coats. Each coat should dry for 4 hours. Once the final coat is dry, remove the tape. Remember to sand the first and second coats with a 400-grit sandpaper. The total curing time for the varnish is 7 days to achieve maximum performance.

*Important: maintaining a 45º angle with the trowel is key in the application of Smartcret microcement. Otherwise, the final result may not be as expected. Our trowel, available in the tool kit, is anti-scald. Buying another trowel could burn the Smartcret microcement, thus damaging the final result. It is important to keep in mind that the sandpapers included in the kit are designed for manual sanding. If an electric sander is used, it is quite likely that the material will be damaged due to excessive pressure.
