Smart Microcement Kit for Plastered Surfaces (86ft2) Content
The ready-to-use microcement kit for plastered surfaces is a set of products with everything needed for the correct application of microcement, from priming to sealing, as well as microcement and varnish. This microcement kit has been created for coating plastered substrates such as drywall, plaster, concrete, cement, etc. and is suitable for interior applications, both floors and walls.
The materials in our microcement kit for plastered surfaces (86ft2/8m2) are as follows:
- 1 Smart Primer GRIP 2Kg: highly-adhesive and fast drying filler and smoothing putty for filling tile and gresite grout joints. Its main function is to smooth the substrate before the application of Smartcret ready-to-use microcement. It is also resistant to water and environmental humidity. Available for different types of grout joints depending on their size.
- 2 Smart Base 8Kg: ready-to-use microcement preparation and pre-pigmented. This microcement has a larger granulometry and is applied as a base for the application of Smart Liso microcement.
- 1 Smart Liso 6Kg: ready-to-use microcement already pigmented finish. This microcement has a smaller granulometry and is applied as the last layer in the application of Smartcret microcement system. A burnt or water effect can be achieved during application.
- Sandpaper discs for sanding the different layers during the Smart microcement kit for plastered surfaces (86ft2): : 5 sandpaper 40 grit, 10 sandpaper 220 grit and 5 sandpaper 400 grit.
- 1 Smart Varnish 2L: water-based varnish for the protection of microcement with high resistance to abrasion, cleaning agents, wear and sunlight. It enhances the color of microcement and is available in matte or satin finish.
To achieve the best results in the application, from Smartcret we recommend the use of the tool kit to apply ready-to-use microcement that contains everything you need to properly apply all the products in the tool kit, such as rollers, buckets, protective tape and trowels.
Application of Smart Microcement Kit for Plastered Surfaces (86ft2)
- Before applying the ready-to-use microcement kit for plastered surfaces, the surface must be cleaned and grease-free. Once dry, outline the area you'd like to apply on with adhesive tape.
- Prepare the surface for proper adhesion of the microcement. Using a roller, apply one coat of Smart Primer GRIP. Before use, stir manually. Allow to dry for 2 to 4 hours.
- Dip the Smart Roller in the Smart Base and spread the microcement thinly (less than 1mm) on the wall vertically, then horizontally. Smooth it out with the polycarbonate trowel using arcing motions in all directions. Repeat this process until the surface is completely covered and smooth. Allow 6 hours of drying time between layers and sand after each layer with a 40-grit sandpaper. Apply a total of 2 layers of Smart Base.
- Follow the same process with the Smart Liso. Use the Smart Roller and the polycarbonate trowel to spread the microcement thinly (less than 0.5mm) until the surface is fully covered. Allow 6 hours of drying time between layers and sand after each layer using a 220-grit sandpaper. Remove the adhesive tape immediately after application or after complete drying. Apply a total of 2 layers of Smart Liso. Let it dry for 24 hours after the final coat.
- Place the adhesive tape again and apply 3 layers of Smart Varnish with a roller. For bathrooms and high-traffic areas, we recommend applying 4 coats. Remove the adhesive tape immediately after application or after drying completely. Allow 4 hours of drying between layers. Sand the first and second layers with 400-grit sandpaper.
- Smart Vanish varnish reaches its peak performance within 7 days.
IMPORTANT: if the surface to be covered with microcement is not in optimum condition (cracks, dents, knocks, flaking, excessive humidity, etc.), it must be repaired before using the Smartcret microcement kit.
