Cover tiles without removing them: microcement and paint

Yes, you can cover tiles without taking them off. No hammer, no rubble, no skip outside your door. There are two routes, and the difference is the finish you are after.

With microcement you get a continuous surface, no grout lines, a few millimetres thick: the tile disappears completely and the bathroom or kitchen changes material, not just colour. On tile the surface is glazed and does not absorb, so the system starts by filling and levelling the joints with Smart Jointer and follows with Smart Primer PLUS, the maximum-grip primer. Skip that step and the grout pattern would eventually show through the microcement.

I found this product because I was so sick of cleaning tile grout. I wanted the Tadelakt look without spending $$$. The process takes time but the result was worth it. Only use the plastic trowel — a metal one leaves black marks. The Smartcret team was very helpful. I love my new shower and get so many compliments on it!
