One kit to renovate the whole bathroom without ripping anything out. Microcement goes on top of what you already have, just a few millimetres thick: walls, shower tray and shower walls, countertop and sink. No demolition, no rubble and no losing your bathroom for a week.

If your walls are tiled, the surface is glazed and non-absorbent. The system starts by filling and levelling the grout lines with Smart Jointer, then moves on to Smart Primer PLUS, the maximum-adhesion primer for this kind of surface. Skip that step and the microcement will end up showing the pattern of the grout lines.

If they are plasterboard, plaster or cement, the surface is porous and has no grout lines to fill, so the kit goes straight in with the primer for absorbent surfaces. Same microcement, same finish; what changes is how you prepare what sits underneath.

In the shower, the varnish is what seals the system, and you apply every coat the instructions call for without skipping any. Microcement on its own is not the layer that stands up to water: the varnish on top is, which is why the kit includes it and why the step is not optional.

Countertops and sinks work the same way, with one limit worth knowing before you buy: they handle daily use and water, but not a hot pan or pot set down directly on them. Use a trivet, as you would on any countertop that is not stone.

The bathroom floor is not part of this kit: it needs different preparation and a different thickness, and it has a kit of its own. Twenty colours, all with a matt finish, and the kit arrives complete: primer, microcement, varnish, application trowel and step-by-step instructions.

A professional applicator charges 90–120 €/m², labour included, and you have to hand the bathroom over for several days. This kit is the material: you apply it yourself, with the instructions inside and the step-by-step video. The project takes three days and the varnish reaches full cure after seven.

Colour: swatches and NCS equivalences are indicative. The actual result may vary depending on your screen, the lighting of the space, the surface and the application.

Before you buy

Check if this kit is right for your surface

This solution covers both surfaces: jointed tiles and porous building substrates. Pick yours in the selector and check these four points before choosing size and colour.

Compatible surface

Both: surfaces with stable joints —tiles, mosaic, floor tiles, terrazzo or marble— and building substrates such as cement, concrete, plaster or drywall. The kit changes with the surface you choose.

Coverage

Measure the height × width of each surface. The calculator adds a 10% margin and recommends the right kit size, or a combination for larger projects.

Everything you need to know before you start

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 14 days from delivery for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and your order number is enough for us. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

Properties

Properties

  • Seamless and continuous. Applied in a thin layer over the existing surface, so it does not noticeably raise the level.
  • Twenty colours. All with a matt finish, which comes from the varnish included in the kit.
  • Ready-to-use. The microcement comes pre-mixed: no measuring out or mixing aggregates.
  • Adhesion on difficult surfaces. The primer is what lets you apply it over non-absorbent surfaces such as tile.

Application

How to apply it

It goes on top of what you already have, with no ripping out and no rubble. The kit includes everything you need and step-by-step instructions.

  • Preparing a glazed surface. On tile or porcelain the surface is glazed and non-absorbent: first fill and level the grout lines with Smart Jointer, then apply Smart Primer PLUS, the maximum-adhesion primer.
  • Preparing a porous surface. On plasterboard, plaster, cement or concrete the surface is porous and there are no grout lines to fill: apply the primer for absorbent surfaces directly.
  • Two coats of microcement. Apply with a trowel in a thin layer, letting it dry between coats. The second coat is the one that sets the final look.
  • Light sanding. With the disc included in the kit, to even out the surface before sealing.
  • Varnish. This is the layer that protects and the one that gives the matt finish. Apply every coat the instructions call for, without skipping any.

No special tools or previous experience needed. Total time depends on the surface area and on the drying times between coats.
