Description

Description of Smartcover Floor: Epoxy Garage Floor Paint

Smartcover Floor is a floor paint that stands up to abrasion and impacts. Its WEAH technology combines the hardness of epoxy with the benefits of a water-based paint: it is applied with a roller and dries fast.

It is formulated for garages, and thanks to its resistance it is also used in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, living rooms and terraces. It stands up to daily traffic and constant use.

It resists knocks and household chemicals (detergents, oils, fuels in brief contact); stains clean off without leaving a mark if they are wiped up in time. Thanks to its covering power and its adhesion, the finish is even with two coats.

Application is straightforward and you do it yourself, without hiring anyone and without building work: surface preparation, two coats with a roller and the drying times stated on the data sheet.

Available in 8 colours with a satin finish.

Application

How to apply Smartcover Floor: Epoxy Garage Floor Paint

  1. Prepare the substrate. Clean, dry and free of dust, grease and loose parts; fill the cracks. If the floor is new mortar or concrete, wait until it has fully cured (one month). If it was painted, the previous paint must be well adhered; if not, remove it.
  2. Prime. The technical data sheet recommends one coat of Smart Primer ABS on absorbent substrates (cement, concrete) and Smart Primer PLUS on non-absorbent ones, and waiting 30 minutes.
  3. Stir and apply. It is one-component and comes in colour: it only needs homogenising. Roller or brush; with a spray gun, dilute 20-25 % with water. Between 10 and 35 ºC, with relative humidity below 70 %, with no rain and no direct sun on the surface.
  4. Second coat. Touch-dry in 30 minutes; the second coat goes on after 3-4 hours. There are two coats, with a coverage of 10 to 12 m² per litre per coat: the 4.5 L container covers between 22 and 27 m² finished.
  5. Putting it to use. Walk on it carefully after 24 hours, full hardness after 72 and no contact with water until 7 days have passed.
