What microcement kit do I need to renovate a bathroom? ▼
It depends on the bathroom surface you want to coat, as you will need a different one for each area. At Smartcret, we offer specific kits for all of them: walls, floors, showers, basins and bathroom countertops.
Can the same kit be used for showers, bathroom floors and walls? ▼
Not always. Our kits share a common product base, but each one is configured according to the bathroom area, the surface and the type of substrate it will be applied to.
That is why a kit for walls, floors and showers is not chosen in the same way, nor is a kit for an absorbent substrate such as cement, plaster or plasterboard the same as one for a non-absorbent substrate such as tiles, porcelain tiles or floor tiles. In addition, kits intended for surfaces with joints include the product needed to cover them before applying the microcement.
Choosing the right kit for each surface will help you achieve a durable and long-lasting finish in every area of the bathroom.
What products are included in a bathroom microcement kit? ▼
All our bathroom microcement kits include the products needed to complete your renovation in a space exposed to constant humidity and frequent contact with water:
- Smart Jointer joint filler: included in kits for tiled surfaces so you can make the joints disappear, such as tiles, floor tiles, terrazzo, mosaic tiles, marble, porcelain tiles and more.
- The right primer for the type of substrate you have in the bathroom and want to renovate with our microcement kits: Smart Primer ABS for absorbent substrates such as cement, plasterboard or concrete, and Smart Primer PLUS for non-absorbent substrates such as mosaic tiles, tiles or marble.
- Preparation microcement (Smart Base) and finishing microcement (Smart Liso).
- Smart Varnish sealing varnish: in the finish you have chosen, matt or satin.
- Smart Booster varnish enhancer: to give the varnish extra resistance against water (not standing water), steam and humidity.
- Sandpapers: the ones needed for the different application stages.
What protective varnish does the bathroom microcement kit include? ▼
Smartcret bathroom microcement kits include Smart Varnish. It is a water-based polyurethane varnish specially designed to protect and increase the durability of microcement in interior spaces.
Easy to apply and quick drying, it protects this coating against water, stains and daily wear.
Are bathroom microcement kits waterproof? ▼
No, technically no microcement is waterproof on its own. Although some professionals sometimes use “waterproof” as a synonym for “water-resistant”, they are not exactly the same thing.
Water resistance is provided by a sealing varnish. That is why all our bathroom microcement kits include a special varnish to seal and protect the microcement against contact with water, stains and the ambient humidity typical of this room in the house. This means you can apply it in the bathroom with complete safety and confidence.

Our kits have very high coverage and are available in different sizes depending on the space you want to renovate.
