The ready-to-use microcement for preparation and already pigmented Smart Base is a decorative material designed to innovate and remodel spaces in a unique way with a maximum grain size of 0.3 mm. Applying this microcement to existing materials allows for a renovation without the need for construction work, quickly and efficiently. Its ready-to-use composition allows for application without prior mixing with other products—just open, shake, and apply.
Furthermore, thanks to the excellent adherence of the ready-to-use microcement for preparation Smart Base, it can be applied to a wide range of absorbent and non-absorbent substrates such as cement mortar, self-leveling compound, terrazzo, marble, tiles, plasterboard, or plaster, both on vertical and horizontal surfaces in both interior and exterior spaces.
Smart Base also boasts good resistance to abrasion, traffic, water, and scratching. These features make it an excellent choice when seeking a coating that is not only decorative but also functional.
For the cleaning and maintenance of the ready-to-use microcement for preparation and already pigmented Smart Base, only water and neutral soap are needed. Alternatively, you can choose to use Smart Cleaner for a deeper clean and Smart Wax maintenance wax to enhance the microcement, reinforcing its hardness and natural shine.

Application of ready-to-use microcement for preparation and pigmented Smart Base
Smart Base is the first type of ready-to-use microcement from Smartcret that needs to be applied. Before proceeding with this step, the support must be properly prepared to favor its stability and ensure the total adhesion of the system.
- Dust, grease, soaps, etc., must be cleaned, and paint in poor condition should be stripped and sanded. If the surface has defects such as cracks or chipping, they must be repaired. It is also crucial to ensure that the support is level, consolidated, and free of dampness.
- In the case of having joints, apply Smart Jointer to fill them.
- Prime the support to guarantee adhesion with our ready-to-use microcement. If the surface is absorbent, such as drywall, plaster, or mortar, apply Smart Primer ABS. In the case of a non-absorbent support (marble, terrazzo, or tiles), do the same with Smart Primer Grip.
- Delimit the surface with protective adhesive tape. Mix the ready-to-use microcemet for preparation Smart Base, already pigmented in your chosen color, with a spatula.
- Apply 2 layers of Smart Base with the Smart Roller for microcement, using the Smartcret polycarbonate trowel to smooth it down (maximum 1mm per layer). Allow 6 hours drying time between layers, depending on temperature and humidity, before the next application. Sand with 40-grit sandpaper. Remove the adhesive tape immediately after application or after complete drying.
Afterward, it would be necessary to apply Smart Liso microcement and protect the new coating with Smart Varnish.
