This solution is designed to renovate jointed surfaces (tiles, mosaic, floor tiles…) without removing them. Check these four points before choosing size and colour.

Compatible surface

Surfaces with stable joints: tiles, mosaic, floor tiles, terrazzo or marble. This is not the right kit for plaster, drywall or cement substrates.

Coverage

Measure the height × width of each surface. The calculator adds a 10% margin and recommends the right kit size, or a combination for larger projects.

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 14 days from delivery for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and your order number is enough for us. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

Mini Microcement Kit for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Showers Content - Covers 4 m² of Non-Absorbent Surfaces

In the ready-to-use Mini microcement kit for kitchens, bathrooms and showers, designed for applying on 4 m² of non-absorbent surfaces by Smartcret, you'll find all the essentials to complete your dream renovation without any messy removal of existing materials. It's a simple transformation that doesn't require any prior experience and can be done by yourself.

These high-performance products ensure a professional finish on interior non-absorbant surfaces like tiles, mosaic, marble, terrazzo, and many more.

This Mini Microcement Kit for kitchens, bathrooms and showers, suitable for 4 m² of non-absorbent surfaces includes:

1 Smart Jointer 1.5 kg: Tile grout joint filler. It's a high-adhesion, quick-drying filler used to smooth the surface before applying Smartcret's ready-to-use microcement. Resistant to water and ambient humidity.
1 Smart Primer PLUS 0.5 L: Water-based acrylic primer used to enhance adhesion of Smartcret microcement on non-absorbent surfaces.
1 Smart Base 8 kg: Preparatory ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product with larger granules is applied to the base surface to ensure its consistency. It doesn't provide the final finish.
1 Smart Liso 3 kg: Finishing ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product, applied after Smart Base, has a finer granule size and is responsible for providing the uniform, smooth, and soft aesthetics of the microcement.
1 Smart Varnish 1 L: Ready-to-use water-based polyurethane varnish. It seals and protects the microcement from external agents such as abrasion or water damage. It enhances the color of the new coating and is available in matte and satin finishes.
1 Smart Booster 50 g: Component B added to the varnish for enhanced protection against chemical agents, increased hardness, and higher resistance to abrasion.
Sanding discs: Sandpapers with different grains for sanding the various layers of the products included in this Mini Kit. You'll find three 40-grit sandpapers, five 220-grit sandpapers, and three 400-grit sandpapers.

Please note that Smartcret offers a separate toolkit for applying microcement, which is not included in this ready-to-use Mini Microcement Kit but is necessary for correctly applying the products. These tools include rollers, a tray, protective masking tape, and a polycarbonate trowel.

Have you discovered the versatility of our microcement and are considering coating your countertop with it to innovate? Can you do it with our Mini Kit of microcement? It depends! In bathrooms, this stylish piece of furniture won’t give you any trouble thanks to its resistance to water (not standing water) and ambient humidity. However, in a kitchen, problems can arise, and for this reason, we don’t recommend or guarantee the results if you decide to coat a countertop in this space. If you still decide to give it a try, keep the following considerations in mind:

It is not a fireproof material. Therefore, you must protect the countertop. Do not place hot pots or containers directly on it – you’ll damage it! Always use a trivet or a board.
Don’t cut food directly on it! The countertop isn’t a cutting board, and doing so will leave unpleasant marks that will diminish its beauty.
Be careful with stains. Don’t let oil, vinegar, or coffee stains ruin your beautiful countertop. Clean them as soon as possible with Smart Cleaner! You’ll also be happy to know that our Smart Varnish combined with Smart Booster provides protection for up to 8 hours (see the technical data sheet).

Application

Application of the Mini Microcement Kit for 4 m² of Non-Absorbent Surfaces

Clean and degrease the surface. Once dry, tape off the area where the microcement will be applied.
Apply 1 layer of Smart Jointer to fill the grout joints and leave the surface seamless. Let the product dry for 24 hours. Then, sand with a 40-grit sandpaper until the surface is completely smooth.
Prepare the surface for treatment. Use a roller to apply a coat of Smart Primer PLUS. Let it dry for 30 minutes.
Wet the Smart Roller with Smart Base and spread the microcement thinly (less than 1 mm) vertically and then horizontally over the surface. Smooth it out with the polycarbonate trowel in arching and multi-directional movements. Repeat this process until the surface is completely covered and smooth. Allow 6 hours of drying time between layers and sand after each layer with a 40-grit sandpaper to ensure there are no burrs. Apply a total of 2 layers of Smart Base.
Repeat the same process with Smart Liso. Use the Smart Roller and polycarbonate trowel to spread the microcement thinly (less than 0.5 mm) until the surface is covered. Allow 6 hours of drying time between layers and sand after each layer with a 220-grit sandpaper. Remove the tape after application. Apply a total of 2 layers of Smart Liso. Let it dry for 24 hours after the last layer.
Add the Smart Booster to the Smart Varnish container. Gently shake the container manually for a few minutes. While the mixture rests, apply tape to the necessary areas. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes.
Once the Smart Varnish mixture is ready, apply the first coat. The mixture has a shelf life of 24 hours, allowing it to be used for the second and third coats. Each coat should dry for 4 hours. Once the final coat is dry, remove the tape. Remember to sand the first and second coats with a 400-grit sandpaper. The total curing time for the protective sealer for microcement is 7 days to achieve maximum performance.

*Important: maintaining a 45º angle with the trowel is key in the application of Smartcret microcement. Otherwise, the final result may not be as expected.

Quality tools contribute to an optimal aesthetic result. Our trowel, not included in this kit, is a clear example due to its anti-scorching properties. Buying another trowel, if its quality leaves much to be desired, could scratch the microcement.

It is important to keep in mind that the sandpapers included in the kit are designed for manual sanding. If an electric sander is used, it is quite likely that the material will be damaged due to excessive pressure.
