Description Smart Medio: ready to use microcement for floors
Smart Medio is the finishing microcement in the Smartcret system for floors and stairs. It is always applied over two coats of Smart Base, which is the preparation layer that gives body to the covering, and it is then protected with three coats of Smart Varnish mixed with Smart Booster. It is the same system that the floor kits and the outdoor kits use.
It serves to renovate a floor or a staircase without lifting what is already there: floor tiles, terrazzo, marble, cement, concrete, plasterboard or plaster, each with its own primer (Smart Primer ABS on absorbent substrates, Smart Primer PLUS on non-absorbent ones, with Smart Jointer to fill the tile joints beforehand). The result is a continuous floor, with no joints, 2-3 mm thick in total.
Individual container: 4, 8 and 16 kg in 20 colours, to restock material or finish a small area. If you are starting from scratch, the practical option is a microcement kit matched to the square metres of your floor, because it comes with Base, Medio, primer, varnish, Booster and abrasive discs in exactly the right quantities and with step-by-step instructions.
Technical data sheet figures: coverage 0.45 kg/m² per coat, maximum thickness 0.5 mm per coat, Shore hardness 48, Taber abrasion 199 mg (CS17, 1,000 g, 1,000 cycles), density 1.6 g/cm³, sanding with a 120-grit disc, drying between coats of 4 to 8 hours. Indoor product; outdoors the same system is used with the varnish reinforced with Booster.
Maintenance: water and neutral pH soap; Smart Cleaner for deep cleaning and Smart Wax every 6-12 months to maintain the surface hardness and the sheen. The varnish is checked every six months and renewed at most every two years in areas of traffic or damp.
