Microcement kits for non-absorbent surfaces

A non-absorbent surface is one that does not take in water: wall tiles, stoneware, mosaic, terrazzo, marble or floor tiles. They are the most common in bathrooms and kitchens, and they have two quirks that shape the job: they let no product through, and they have pronounced joints that, left untreated, end up telegraphing through the microcement.

That is why these microcement kits for non-absorbent surfaces include two pieces the ones for bare construction surfaces do not carry: Smart Jointer, to fill and level the joints before you start, and Smart Primer PLUS, the maximum-adhesion primer formulated to grip onto ceramic material. From there, the system is the usual one: thin coats of base and finishing microcement, sanding between passes and a final seal with varnish.

Everything arrives ready to use and already pigmented, in 20 colours and a matte or satin finish. There is no need to lift the tiles or generate rubble: the microcement goes on top, at 2-3 mm thick, which takes up no space and means you do not have to touch doors or sanitaryware.

If your surface is cement, plaster or plasterboard, the system you need is a different one: see the kits for absorbent surfaces. And to choose by room, you have everything in microcement kits.
