What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 15 days from receipt for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and you will need the invoice to process it. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

Your new sink will enjoy high resistance to water and ambient humidity, keeping its colour and texture intact over time. Just one small detail makes all the difference: ensure a gentle 10% slope towards the drain so that water flows naturally and the finish stays as beautiful as day one.

1 × Smart Primer ABS (0.5 L): primer for absorbent surfaces such as cement, mortar or concrete. Prepares the surface and improves the adhesion of the ready-to-use microcement.
1 × Smart Base (8 Kg): pigmented preparation microcement. Levels, smooths and leaves the surface ready for the final finish.
1 × Smart Liso (3 kg): ultra-fine finishing microcement, already coloured. Provides the tone and silky texture you imagine.
1 × Smart Varnish (1 L): water-based protective varnish (matt or satin) that seals and protects your sink against water, humidity and daily use — making cleaning easier.
1 × Smart Booster (50 g): additive that enhances the chemical resistance of the varnish for a longer-lasting finish.
3 × Sandpapers grit 40: for the first sanding of Smart Base and surface levelling.
5 × Sandpapers grit 220: for smoothing between Smart Liso coats and preparing for sealing.
3 × Sandpapers grit 400: for final sanding and varnish touch-up, ensuring a uniform, smooth surface.

💡 Smartcret Tip: tools are not included, but you can find a specific application kit (polycarbonate trowel, rollers, etc.) designed for this system. Using the wrong or low-quality accessories may affect the final finish.

Key things to know before renovating your concrete sink with our 4 m² microcement kit

Microcement is like a great travel companion: tough, but not indestructible. Treat it well and it will stay with you for years, with the same look and colour as day one.

Below are the essentials to read before you permanently transform your built-in sink with our ready-to-use microcement kit.

🌀 No standing water

Microcement gets along perfectly with running water, but it doesn’t like long baths. Make sure your concrete/cement sink has a clear slope to the drain (at least 10%) so water flows away and doesn’t pool.

💧 Not waterproof, but water-resistant

The system protects against splashes and ambient humidity, but not against prolonged water stagnation. Care for your sink as you would a beautiful countertop: gently and without excess.

🌿 No mould, no joints

One of the big advantages: no joints — so dirt doesn’t build up and mould has nowhere to grow. Clean easily with water and pH-neutral soap, no heavy scrubbing needed.

🍃 Clean and sustainable renovations

Our microcement is low-VOC and free from strong odours. Perfect for upgrading your built-in sink without harsh products or chemical smells at home.

⚒️ Mind the corners and edges

For a uniform surface without product build-up, use a small spatula to reach tight spots where the trowel can’t leave a perfect finish on its own.

🫸 Don’t rush it

The varnish reaches its maximum resistance after 7 days. We recommend not using your new microcement sink until then — avoid constant water contact during the curing period.

Step-by-step guide: how to apply your 4 m² microcement kit for built-in sink

What’s now just a simple built-in sink will soon become a unique design piece. It’s time to say goodbye to plain cement or concrete and welcome microcement with this ready-to-use kit. Follow these easy steps to turn an ordinary sink into a designer finish made by your own hands. It will withstand daily use and let the water flow effortlessly — no mess, no puddles.

1. Clean and prepare

Say goodbye to the past: clean your sink, remove any soap residue and repair small cracks. A clean, solid and dry surface is the perfect starting point. And make sure there’s a proper slope towards the drain — standing water is not your friend.

2. Prime properly

Apply Smart Primer ABS with a roller to ensure perfect adhesion. Wait around 30 minutes and let it do its magic. The microcement will stick like a glove.

3. Build the base with Smart Base

Apply two thin coats of Smart Base, spreading evenly with the Smart Roller and smoothing with a trowel at a 45° angle. Allow 6 hours of drying time between coats and sand with grit 40 paper. This is when the transformation starts to show.

4. Refine the finish

Apply two coats of Smart Liso, the extra-fine finishing microcement. Keep the 6-hour drying time between coats, and sand with grit 220 to achieve a smooth, continuous texture.

5. Protect it for good

Mix Smart Booster with Smart Varnish and apply three thin coats (matt or satin). Leave 4 hours between coats, sanding the first and second with grit 400. This combination increases resistance to water and humidity — essential for your microcement sink.

6. Enjoy

Your sink is no longer just functional — it’s a true design feature. Clean it with water and pH-neutral soap, and use Smart Cleaner to keep it looking as good as new. The varnish reaches its maximum hardness after 7 days. Until then, use it carefully and avoid constant contact with water.

🧠 Smartcret Tips

Less is more: thin layers mean fewer marks and better drying.
Always sand by hand: electric sanders can “burn” the finish if you press too hard.
Keep water moving: make sure there’s a gentle slope towards the drain to prevent pooling and keep the finish perfect for longer.
Regular cleaning: daily with water and pH-neutral soap. For occasional deep cleaning, use Smart Cleaner.
