Your sink is where every day begins – now it’s also where transformation starts, the first step to a bathroom with real character. With this microcement kit for sinks (absorbent surfaces), you can turn up to 8 m² of concrete or cement into a seamless, easy-to-clean surface with excellent resistance to water and humidity.

No construction work, 100 % DIY, colour of your choice, and a finish that looks professionally done. Below you’ll find everything included in our ready-to-use Smartcret microcement kit. (And one small note: tools are sold separately – but they’re what make the difference for a perfect result!)

• 1 × Smart Primer ABS (1 L). Primer for absorbent surfaces such as cement, mortar or concrete. It prepares the base and ensures maximum adhesion of the system to your built-in sink.
• 1 × Smart Base (16 Kg) . Pigmented preparation microcement. It levels, gives body and creates the strong base layer everything else builds on.
• 1 × Smart Liso (6 Kg) . Pigmented ultra-fine finishing microcement that defines the final colour and silky texture.
• 1 × Smart Varnish (2 L) . Water-based varnish, available in matt or satin finish, sealing and protecting the surface from water, humidity and daily bathroom use.
• 1 × Smart Booster (100 g) . Additive that increases the chemical and mechanical resistance of the varnish for a longer-lasting result.
• 6 × Sandpapers grit 40. For the initial sanding of Smart Base.
• 10 × Sandpapers grit 220. For smoothing between Smart Liso coats.
• 6 × Sandpapers grit 400. For the final sanding and polishing of the varnish to achieve a uniform feel.

Mind the slope! Our microcement is water-resistant, but not designed for standing water. Make sure your sink has a gentle slope (≈10 %) toward the drain so water flows away naturally without pooling.

🌀 Keep water moving

Microcement handles running water well, but not permanent puddles. Ensure a minimum 10% slope toward the drain so water flows away and doesn’t sit. That’s the key to keeping the finish beautiful and stable.

💧 Water-resistant, not waterproof

The system is designed to resist water, steam and ambient humidity, but not constant contact with standing water. Treat it like a quality countertop: go easy on water and avoid abrasive products.

🌿 Easy cleaning, zero mould

No joints, no awkward corners. Microcement prevents dirt build-up and gives mould nowhere to grow. Clean with water and pH-neutral soap, or use Smart Cleaner for a deeper, eco-friendly clean.

🍃 Clean renovation with low odour

The system is low-VOC and low odour, ideal for upgrading your sink without filling the house with harsh chemicals or smells.

⚒️ Mind the edges and corners

Sinks have their tricky spots: curves, joins and corners. Use a small spatula or flexible tool to reach where the trowel can’t, and achieve a uniform surface.

🫸 Give it time

Patience is part of the process. The varnish reaches full strength after 7 days, so avoid intensive use until then. After that, the finish will easily keep up with daily life.

How to apply your 8 m² microcement kit for sink (absorbent surface)

Here’s the fun part: watching your built-in sink change layer by layer.Put some music on, open your Smartcret microcement kit, and let the transformation begin.

1️⃣ Clean and prepare

Remove any soap, limescale or grease and dry thoroughly. Mask edges and taps with painter’s/masking tape. Apply Smart Primer ABS with a roller and let it dry for about 30 minutes.

2️⃣ Build the base

Apply Smart Base in two thin coats. Spread with Smart Roller and smooth with a trowel at 45°. Allow ≈6 hours drying time between coats and sand with grit 40 for a uniform, solid surface.

3️⃣ Refine the finish

Apply Smart Liso in two coats, allowing 6 hours between them. Sand with grit 220. This is where the sink starts to look like one continuous piece with a soft touch.

4️⃣ Protect and seal

Mix Smart Booster with Smart Varnish and apply three coats (choose matt or satin). Allow 4 hours between coats; sand the first and second coats with grit 400. Wait 7 days before intensive use—full curing gives the sealer its maximum strength.

5️⃣ Maintenance

Microcement resists water and ambient humidity, but avoid standing water. Clean with water and pH-neutral soap. For deeper cleaning, use Smart Cleaner to keep colour and texture perfect.

🧠 Smartcret Tips

• Light coats, beautiful results: thin, even layers dry better and prevent marks.
• Sand by hand, calmly: full control on edges and curves; an electric sander can “burn” the finish if over-pressed.
• Water needs an exit: keep a gentle slope toward the drain to avoid pooling and preserve the look.
