It's a simple transformation that doesn't require any prior experience and can be accomplished by yourself.

These professional-grade products are ideal for creating decorative coatings on bathroom and kitchen surfaces made of plasterboard, plaster, cement, and concrete, among others.

This Mini Microcement Kit for kitchens, bathrooms and showers, covering up to 4 square meters of absorbent surfaces, includes:

• 1 Smart Primer ABS 0.5 L: Water-based acrylic primer. This product is designed to improve the adhesion between the substrate and the microcement, ensuring even absorption across the entire surface.
• 1 Smart Base 8 kg: Preparatory ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product with larger granules is applied to the base surface to ensure its consistency. It doesn't provide the final finish.
• 1 Smart Liso 3 kg: Finishing ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product, applied after Smart Base, has a finer granule size and is responsible for providing the uniform, smooth, and soft aesthetics of the microcement.
• 1 Smart Varnish 1 L: Ready-to-use water-based polyurethane varnish. It seals and protects the microcement from external agents such as abrasion or water damage. It enhances the color of the new coating and is available in matte and satin finishes.
• 1 Smart Booster 50 g: Component B which is added to the varnish for enhanced protection against chemical agents, increased hardness, and resistance to abrasion.
• Sanding discs: Sandpapers with different grains for sanding the various layers of the products included in this Mini Kit. You'll find three 40-grit sandpapers, five 220-grit sandpapers, and three 400-grit sandpapers.

Please note that Smartcret offers a separate toolkit for applying microcement, which is not included in this ready-to-use microcement Mini Kit but is necessary for correctly applying the products. These tools include rollers, a tray, protective masking tape, and a polycarbonate trowel.

Do you want to know if you can use this Mini Kit of microcement for your home countertop? Of course, you can! It’s especially suitable for bathrooms due to its resistance to water (not standing water) and ambient humidity. However, for kitchens, we don’t recommend it or guarantee the results. If you decide to give it a try, keep these recommendations in mind to keep your kitchen looking brand new:

1. Microcement does not withstand high temperatures, so avoid placing hot pots or pans directly on the surface. Use trivets or wooden boards to protect it. If you take care of your marble countertop, do the same with microcement—you won’t regret it!
2. Do not cut food directly on the countertop. Having marks on the surface is not pleasant, right? Better to use a cutting board and enjoy a flawless countertop.
3. Stains are a big enemy. Try to clean up any spills on the countertop as quickly as possible, especially oil or vinegar. Our combination of Smart Varnish and Smart Booster provides excellent chemical resistance for up to 8 hours (see table in the technical data sheet), but remember: the sooner you clean with Smart Cleaner, the better. Forget about the hassle!

Application of Mini Microcement Kit for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Showers - Covers 4 m² of Absorbent Surfaces

1. Ensure the area is free of any cracks, grooves, or imperfections. After necessary repairs are made, ensure it's thoroughly clean and free of grease. Once completely dry, use masking tape to mark the boundaries of the treatment area.
2. Prepare the surface for treatment. Apply a coat of Smart Primer ABS using a roller. Allow it to dry for 30 minutes.
3. Time to apply the first layer of microcement. Using the Smart Roller, spread a thin layer (approximately 1 mm thick) of Smart Base microcement, starting with vertical strokes and then switching to horizontal. Then, use the polycarbonate trowel at a 45-degree angle to smooth the surface with arched and multi-directional movements until it's completely smooth. Allow it to dry for 6 hours and sand after each layer with the 40 grit sandpaper. Apply two layers in total.
4. Continue the same process with Smart Liso, applying it with the Smart Roller and trowel in a thin layer (less than 0.5 mm thick) over the entire surface. Wait for 6 hours before sanding and applying a second layer. You need to sand with 220-grit sandpaper. Remove the masking tape and, as a recommendation, let the surface rest for 24 hours after the last application and sanding.
5. Mix Smart Booster into the Smart Varnish container. Gently shake the container by hand for a few minutes. While the mixture rests, apply masking tape to any areas needing protection. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes.
6. Once the Smart Varnish mixture is ready, apply the first coat. The mixture has a shelf life of 24 hours, allowing it to be used for the second and third coats. Each coat should dry for 4 hours. Once the final coat is dry, remove the masking tape. Remember to sand the first and second coats with 400-grit sandpaper. The varnish requires a full 7 days to cure to achieve maximum performance.

*Important: the effective application of Smartcret microcement requires a 45º angle with the trowel. An incorrect angle may alter the texture and final aesthetics.

The choice of tools for applying Smartcret microcement is crucial. Our trowel, not included in this kit, avoids burning the microcement and the appearance of unsightly black streaks. Buying another type of trowel may affect the aesthetic finish.

The sandpaper grits in this microcement kit are intended for manual sanding. Using an electric sander may create excessive friction and compromise the result by burning the microcement.
