The Super Microcement Kit, ready to use and already coloured, covers 16 m² and brings together the materials needed to cover walls and showers. It is a renovation with no building work, done in a few days, that you can carry out without hiring anyone.

Professional-quality products for interior porous surfaces: plasterboard, plaster, cement, concrete and mortar.

The 16 m² Super Microcement Kit for walls and showers on plasterboard or cement is made up of:

• 2 Smart Primer ABS 1 L: water-based acrylic primer. It aids adhesion between the surface and the microcement and regulates the behaviour of porous surfaces so that consumption is even.
• 4 Smart Base 8 kg: ready-to-use preparation microcement. It stands out for its coarser grain. It is applied after the primer to give solidity to the surface that is going to be covered with microcement. It is not the final finish we see. The product comes fully coloured, there are no components to mix.
• 2 Smart Liso 6 kg: ready-to-use finishing microcement. It is applied after Smart Base and gives the final look to the bathroom wall and/or floor. It too is already coloured in the shade chosen by the customer. It has a finer grain that provides a softer, smoother and silkier finish to the touch.
• 2 Smart Varnish 2 L: water-based polyurethane varnish. Ready to use, it seals and protects the microcement against traffic, water and so on. It also has the particular quality of bringing out the colour of the surface. Available in matt and satin.
• 4 Smart Booster 50 g: component B added to the varnish for greater protection against chemical agents, more hardness and abrasion resistance.
• Sanding discs: discs in assorted grits for sanding the product layers. Includes 10 grit 40 discs, 20 grit 220 discs and 10 grit 400 discs.

The tools are not included in the kit. For a correct application you will need rollers, a tray, protective masking tape, a sanding glove and a polycarbonate trowel, all available in the Smartcret tool kit.

On use on countertops: in the bathroom microcement performs well because it withstands everyday water and ambient damp, though not standing water. In the kitchen we do not recommend it and we do not give a guarantee. If you still decide to apply it, bear these three conditions in mind:

1. Microcement is not fireproof. Do not rest pans, frying pans or hot containers directly on the countertop. Always use a board or a trivet.
2. Do not cut food directly on the countertop. It does not replace a chopping board and the marks stay visible.
3. Act quickly on stains. Oil, vinegar or coffee should be cleaned off as soon as possible with Smart Cleaner. Smart Varnish together with Smart Booster provides chemical resistance for a maximum of 8 hours (see the table in the technical data sheet).

How to apply your microcement kit

1. Ensure the area is free of any cracks, grooves, or imperfections. After necessary repairs are made, ensure it's thoroughly clean and free of grease. Once completely dry, use masking tape to mark the boundaries of the treatment area.
2. Prepare the surface for treatment. Apply a coat of Smart Primer ABS using a roller. Allow it to dry for 30 minutes.
3. Time to apply the first layer of microcement. Using the Smart Roller, spread a thin layer (approximately 1 mm thick) of Smart Base microcement, starting with vertical strokes and then switching to horizontal. Then, use the polycarbonate trowel at a 45-degree angle to smooth the surface with arched and multi-directional movements until it's completely smooth. Allow it to dry for 6 hours and sand after each layer with the 40 grit sandpaper. Apply two layers in total.
4. Continue the same process with Smart Liso, applying it with the Smart Roller and trowel in a thin layer (less than 0.5 mm thick) over the entire surface. Wait for 6 hours before sanding and applying a second layer. You need to sand with 220-grit sandpaper. Remove the masking tape and, as a recommendation, let the surface rest for 24 hours after the last application and sanding.
5. Mix Smart Booster into the Smart Varnish container. Gently shake the container by hand for a few minutes. While the mixture rests, apply masking tape to any areas needing protection. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes.
6. Once the Smart Varnish mixture is ready, apply the first coat. The mixture has a shelf life of 24 hours, allowing it to be used for the second and third coats. Each coat should dry for 4 hours. Once the final coat is dry, remove the masking tape. Remember to sand the first and second coats with 400-grit sandpaper. The varnish requires a full 7 days to cure to achieve maximum performance.

*Important: the sandpaper grits specified in this step-by-step guide are for manual sanding. Electric sanding could damage the material.

If you do not want to have any surprises in the final finish, we advise you to buy our anti-scald trowel included in our tool kit. Buying another trowel could burn the microcement and cause unsightly black streaks to appear.
