What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 15 days from receipt for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and you will need the invoice to process it. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

What’s inside the 8 m² microcement kit for concrete stairs

Bigger staircase, even bigger transformation. This microcement kit is designed to cover up to 8 m² of concrete or cement steps—no construction, no contractors needed. Just open the box and start creating a continuous, durable and anti-slip finish with your own hands:

1 Smart Primer ABS 1 L – the primer that ensures perfect grip on absorbent surfaces.
1 Smart Base 16 Kg – the prep microcement that builds the base and adds body.
1 Smart Medio 8 Kg – the finishing microcement with a fine, anti-slip texture.
1 Smart Varnish 2 L – water-based varnish to seal and protect your new surface.
1 Smart Booster 100 g – the secret weapon that boosts chemical and mechanical resistance.
Included sandpapers: 6 x 40 grit, 10 x 80 grit, 6 x 400 grit.

Application

How to apply the 8 m² microcement kit for concrete stairs and show off your finish

Got a wider staircase? Perfect excuse to unleash your creative side! With this ready-to-use microcement kit, you can revamp up to 8 m² of concrete or cement steps with zero building work, zero stress, and zero experience required.

Follow these steps and give every step your personal touch:

1. Take your time to prep

Clean those steps thoroughly. The surface must be dry, solid and crack-free. Dust, grease or old residues? Get rid of them! A stable base makes all the difference.

2. Time to prime

Apply an even layer of Smart Primer ABS using a roller and let it sit for 30 minutes. This primes the surface so the microcement grips like it should.

3. First microcement layers: the base game

Apply two coats of Smart Base: roll vertically first, then horizontally with the Smart Roller. Finish each layer by smoothing it with the polycarbonate trowel at a 45° angle. Let each coat dry for 6 hours and sand with 40 grit. This is where the transformation begins.

4. Finishing coats: the style move

Now it’s Smart Medio’s turn. Apply two thin coats for a smooth, strong, anti-slip surface. Sand between layers with 80 grit, wait 6 hours each, and get ready to fall in love with your new stairs.

5. Final seal and showtime

Mix Smart Varnish with Smart Booster and apply 3 coats. Sand the first two with 400 grit. Choose between matte or satin finish. Let it cure for 7 days and enjoy the staircase glow-up.
