Before you buy

Check if this kit is right for your bathroom

This solution is designed to renovate building substrates (cement, concrete, plaster or drywall). Check these four points before choosing size and colour.

Compatible surface

Building substrates: cement, concrete, plaster or drywall. This is not the right kit for tiled surfaces with joints.

Coverage

Measure the height × width of each surface. The calculator adds a 10% margin and recommends the right kit size, or a combination for larger projects.

What's included

Joint filler, primer, microcement base coats, finish, varnish, additive and sandpaper: the complete layer-by-layer system.

What you need separately

Sealer roller, polycarbonate trowel and basic tools. You can find them in microcement tools.

FREE shipping included in the price. Delivery times depend on your country; you will see the estimate at checkout.

Everything you need to know before you start

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 15 days from receipt for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and you will need the invoice to process it. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

Description

What’s in the 18 m² microcement kit for a cement or concrete fireplace

Designed exclusively for exterior, visible areas. Delivers a seamless, modern, durable surface that tolerates normal ambient temperature changes.

Important: microcement is not fireproof—do not apply on areas in direct contact with flame.

  • 3 × Smart Primer ABS (2 × 1 L + 1 × 0.5 L). Primer that balances absorption and prepares the substrate for the microcement system on cement, concrete, drywall, or plaster.
  • 3 × Smart Liso (6 Kg). Ready-to-use, pre-pigmented finishing microcement. Allows very thin coats with a soft feel and a jointless look that handles ambient heat around the fireplace.
  • 2 × Smart Varnish (2 L). Polyurethane sealer in matt or satin. Seals and hardens, boosts color depth, and makes daily cleaning easier, helping the finish last longer.
  • 18 × 220-grit sheets. For levelling between Smart Liso coats and removing minor imperfections without scratching.
  • 9 × 400-grit sheets. For fine sanding between varnish coats to achieve a uniform, elegant touch.

👉 Tools not included. Trowel, roller, Smart Roller, tray, bucket, putty knife, etc. are not part of the pack. For consistent results, add the Tool Kit. Low-quality tools may leave marks.

Additional information

Considerations for the 18 m² microcement kit for your inbuilt fireplace

  • Exterior use only. Apply on visible outer areas only. The system is not fireproof—never inside the firebox or in direct flame.
  • Use the right tools. Choose the recommended Tool Kit; untested or low-quality tools can mark the surface and ruin the finish.
  • Level, firm base. If there are irregularities, level first with a suitable mortar. Microcement needs a solid, flat, dry substrate.
  • Clean junctions. Define edges and corners with a putty knife to avoid burrs.
  • Correct technique. Keep the trowel at ~45° to control material flow and prevent drag marks.
  • Cure before use. Wait 7 days before lighting the fireplace; the varnish reaches maximum performance then.
  • Cleaning & care. Water + pH-neutral soap; avoid harsh products. For extra care, use Smart Cleaner (deep clean) and Smart Wax (maintenance).
Properties

What microcement brings to your inbuilt fireplace

  • No-construction makeover, done by you. Ready-to-use material and clear steps: transform the fireplace yourself—no dust, no contractors.
  • Style on demand. A palette of 20 colors and 2 finishes (matt/satin) — from clean minimal to characterful rustic.
  • Thermal stability. The finish keeps its look through normal household temperature changes. Note: apply on the external cladding only, never where there’s direct flame.
  • Seamless visuals. Jointless, clean, elegant surface with an instant magazine-worthy effect.
  • Pleasant feel & everyday use. Soft-touch, uniform appearance that highlights the fireplace without overpowering the room.
  • Low maintenance. Water + pH-neutral soap once a week is enough. Extra care: Smart Cleaner (deep clean) and Smart Wax (maintenance).
Application

Quick guide to applying your 18 m² microcement kit for an inbuilt fireplace

You’re kicking off a project you’ll be proud of for a long time. Cover-worthy finish without an endless remodel? Done. This weekend, you set the pace: roller ready, music on, and an inbuilt fireplace about to take center stage. Less construction, more design. The secret isn’t speed—it’s respecting drying times and keeping layers thin. Air the room, gather tools, and follow the steps calmly: if you can paint a wall, you can do this.

Scope: coat exterior, visible areas only (front and surrounding zones). Before using the 18 m² microcement kit for an inbuilt fireplace, confirm substrate compatibility: cement, concrete, drywall, or plaster.

  1. Substrate ready? Your absorbent surface must be impeccable: no cracks or flaking, free of dust/grease. Repair, level, and clean before starting.
  2. Primer. Roll on one even coat with the orange roller. Wait 30 minutes before applying microcement.
  3. Smart Liso takes over. Apply three very thin coats of Smart Liso microcement (≤ 0.5 mm each). Smart Roller first, then trowel at a 45° angle. Let each coat dry 6 hours and hand-sand with 220 grit after the first.
  4. Correct varnishing. Apply three coats, leaving 4 hours between each. Hand-sand with 400 grit after the 1st and 2nd coats. Your inbuilt fireplace gets a uniquely silky touch.

Curing & first use

Wait 7 days before lighting the inbuilt fireplace—this is when the varnish reaches optimal hardness and resistance. From then on, enjoy a continuous, contemporary, easy-to-maintain surface that stays stable with ambient heat.

Important

  • Hand sanding only: an electric sander can burn the microcement due to excess pressure.
  • Keep the trowel at ~45° to avoid drag marks and maintain control.
