How to apply your microcement kit for 24 m² concrete kitchen floor: simple, clean, and on a larger scale
24 m² of kitchen floor is no joke, but it doesn’t have to be an endless renovation either. With this microcement kit, you have everything you need to transform a cement, mortar, concrete, or self-leveling floor into a continuous, stunning surface. Follow these steps:
1. Prepare the surface
Make sure the floor is dry, clean, and free from dust, grease, or moisture. Cracks or holes? Fix them first – on big areas, small mistakes become very noticeable.
📌 Tip: divide the kitchen into sections and work step by step. Masking tape will be your best ally.
2. Prime with Smart Primer ABS
Apply one even coat with the roller and let it dry for about 30 minutes. This is what ensures perfect adhesion for everything that comes next.
3. Build with Smart Base
Apply 2 thin coats (less than 1 mm) using the Smart Roller and smooth with the trowel at a 45° angle. Leave 6 hours between coats and sand with grit 40. Here’s where your floor starts gaining strength and uniformity.
4. Finish with Smart Medio
Apply 2 more thin coats (max. 0.5 mm) following the same method: roller, trowel at 45°, sanding with grit 80 after 6 hours drying each. Now your kitchen already shows off that seamless look you dreamed of.
5. Seal with Smart Varnish + Booster
Mix them together, apply 3 coats, and let dry 4 hours between each. Sand the first and second with grit 400. After 7 days of curing, your floor is ready to resist stains, moisture, and the daily life of a real kitchen.
🚨 Important: the secret to a flawless finish is all in the technique. Always hold the trowel at a 45° angle – any variation could ruin the uniform look of your floor. And be careful: not every trowel works. Ours, heat-resistant and included in the tool kit, is designed to leave no marks.
As for sanding, always do it by hand using the grits provided in your kit. An electric sander applies too much pressure and can burn the microcement. Better slow and safe than fast and sorry.
