Changing a small floor should not mean tearing up the house. With this kit you renew 4 m² of tile, terrazzo, marble or stone slab by applying microcement straight over the top, without lifting the old floor and without carrying out a single bag of rubble.

Four square metres is a hallway, a cloakroom, a small study or a flight of stairs. And stairs are exactly where it pays off most: microcement wraps tread and riser with no cuts and no special pieces, something that with tiles always ends in a badly resolved edge. On floors the effect is the same, total continuity and not a grout line in sight.

The kit comes complete and ready to use: the filler that levels the old grout lines, the adhesion primer for glazed surfaces, the preparation and finishing microcement already pigmented — the second gives a texture with more grip, meant to be walked on — the water-based varnish with its hardener and the sanding discs in every grit. Choose your colour and a matt or satin finish, and work at your own pace.

Colour: swatches and NCS equivalences are indicative. The actual result may vary depending on your screen, the lighting of the space, the surface and the application.

Before you buy

Check if this kit is right for your bathroom

This solution is designed to renovate jointed surfaces (tiles, mosaic, floor tiles…) without removing them. Check these four points before choosing size and colour.

Compatible surface

Surfaces with stable joints: tiles, mosaic, floor tiles, terrazzo or marble. This is not the right kit for plaster, drywall or cement substrates.

Coverage

Measure the height × width of each surface. The calculator adds a 10% margin and recommends the right kit size, or a combination for larger projects.

What's included

Joint filler, primer, microcement base coats, finish, varnish, additive and sandpaper: the complete layer-by-layer system.

What you need separately

Sealer roller, polycarbonate trowel and basic tools. You can find them in microcement tools.

FREE shipping included in the price. Delivery times depend on your country; you will see the estimate at checkout.

Everything you need to know before you start

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 14 days from delivery for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and your order number is enough for us. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

Description

What the Microcement Kit 4 m² · floors and stairs · tile contains

This kit covers up to 4 m² of floors and stairs and comes ready to use, with no extra purchases. There is only one mix in the whole process: the varnish with its booster at the end. It is designed to renew glazed surfaces —terrazzo, marble, stone slab, tile, mosaic tile or porcelain— quickly, cleanly and on your own.

Each product has a specific job: preparing the base, unifying the texture, giving resistance to daily use and sealing the colour. From the first smoothing pass to the final varnish, the system turns a worn floor full of grout lines into a continuous surface that is easy to maintain.

In the box you will find the products needed to renew the floor or the staircase of your living room, bedroom, study or hallway:

  • 1 × Smart Jointer (1,5 Kg): for filling and levelling the grout lines, leaving the surface smooth and prepared.
  • 1 × Smart Primer PLUS (0,5 L): maximum-adhesion primer for glazed surfaces such as terrazzo, marble, mosaic tile, porcelain, tile or stone slab.
  • 1 × Smart Base (8 Kg): the first layer of microcement. Ready to use, pigmented and intended to even out the surface.
  • 1 × Smart Medio (4 Kg): finishing microcement, ready to use and already coloured. It provides the final texture, with more grip underfoot and resistance to wear.
  • 1 × Smart Varnish (1 L): water-based varnish, matt or satin, that protects the colour and adds durability against stains, damp and daily use.
  • 1 × Smart Booster (50 g): additive that reinforces the chemical and mechanical resistance of the varnish.
  • 3 × Grit 40 discs: for the initial sanding of Smart Jointer and Smart Base.
  • 5 × Grit 80 discs: for smoothing the Smart Medio layers.
  • 3 × Grit 400 discs: for refining the first varnish layers and achieving a uniform finish.

The tools are not included in this kit. The trowels, rollers and spatulas made specifically for microcement are decisive for a uniform finish with no marks, so you can add the Smartcret tool kit to your order. Tools not tested by us can compromise the result.

Additional information

Key tips to make your new microcement floor last (and look great) for years

Before you open the microcement kit for up to 4 m2 of tiled floors and switch into DIY mode, there are a few points worth keeping in mind. These are what make the difference between a floor that simply "works" and one that looks like new for a long time.

🧱 Check the base carefully

Your current tiled floor must be solid and in good condition:

  • No loose tiles, bumps, cracks or chips.
  • If you find any issues, fill, level or repair them before applying microcement.

Microcement mirrors the substrate: if it moves or is damaged, cracks or marks may appear over time. A good base is half the job done.

👣 Drying, curing and when you can walk on it

Patience is essential here:

  • The Smart Varnish + Smart Booster mix is usable for about 24 hours.
  • After applying the varnish, avoid walking on the floor for at least 48 to 72 hours.
  • Let it cure for a full 7 days to reach maximum strength.

During the first week, avoid heels, dragging objects or heavy loads. The floor is still hardening inside.

🪑 Furniture and chairs: avoid dragging

Your new floor can handle everyday use, but not rough movements:

  • Do not drag furniture directly over the microcement.
  • Add protectors to chair, table, sofa and stool legs.

This prevents scratches and extends the life of the varnish.

🧽 Cleaning and maintenance in the first days

During the first 7 days, leave the floor as undisturbed as possible:

  • Do not mop or use cleaning products while the varnish is curing.
  • If something spills, remove it carefully and dry.

After the first week:

  • Clean with water and neutral soap.
  • Avoid bleach, ammonia, harsh products, abrasive pads or metal brushes.
  • Do not leave standing water: occasional moisture is fine, but stagnation damages the finish.

🪶 Thin layers and gentle sanding

With Smartcret, less is more:

  • Apply thin layers as instructed. Too much material can cause irregularities.
  • Respect drying times between coats.
  • Use the recommended grit and sand with controlled pressure.
  • Keep the trowel at a 45 degree angle.

A soft, even sanding makes a huge difference.

⚒️ Tools matter

Tools are just as important as the product:

  • Tools not tested by Smartcret can leave marks, burn the material or ruin the texture.
  • This kit does not include tools, but you can add the Smartcret tool kit for a professional finish.

Properties of the microcement kit for up to 4 m² of tiled floors

Ready to use from the very first minute: No mixing, no measuring cups, no pigments. Open the container and start transforming your floor right away.

Professional finish for small projects: Even though it’s a 4 m² kit, it contains the same professional-grade microcement used in larger renovations. The result is uniform, durable and beautifully finished.

Water-based, low-emission formula: No strong odours and no toxic components. All containers can be recycled normally. Safe for you, your home… and your pets.

Fast, fully DIY-friendly renovation: Perfect for small areas you want to refresh now. In just a few days you’ll have a new floor—without noise, dust or relying on contractors.

Applies directly over the existing floor: There’s no need to remove marble, terrazzo or tiles, and no debris is generated. The microcement goes straight on top of your tiled floor, reducing waste and avoiding the usual chaos of a traditional renovation.

Uses

Where does this 4 m² microcement kit make sense to use on tiled floors?

This kit is designed for those small areas that really make a difference but no longer match your style. If your current tiled floor is terrazzo, marble, porcelain, tiles, stoneware or standard ceramic tiles, this ready-to-use kit works beautifully on all of them.

It’s ideal for:

  • A section of hallway or entrance.
  • A defined area in the living room or bedroom.
  • A small home office or guest room.

And what about the bathroom? You can use it there too, as long as you want a slightly more textured finish than the one offered by Smart Liso (our specific system for bathroom floors).

In all these cases, you’ll get a seamless, modern-looking surface with no visible joints and ready to handle everyday use.

Application

How to apply your ready-to-use microcement kit on 4 m² of tiled flooring: step by step

This ready-to-use microcement kit is designed for small, manageable projects — just a few square metres that can completely change the look of a room. The rule is simple: thin layers, proper drying times and the right tools. The rest is all you.

1. Prepare the floor properly

Before you touch the microcement, the surface needs to be ready:

  • Sweep and clean to remove dust, grease and daily build-up.
  • Make sure there are no loose tiles, chips or uneven areas.
  • If you spot something, fix it now — anything left underneath will show later.

A solid, stable base is the best foundation for a perfect finish.

2. Level the joints

Your first visible change comes with Smart Jointer:

  • Fill every joint completely.
  • Let it dry for 24 hours.
  • Sand with grit 40 and remove all dust.

You’ll already start to see the “continuous floor” effect taking shape.

3. Prime to bond the surface and the microcement

The primer creates the bridge between the tiled floor and the Smartcret microcement:

  • Apply Smart Primer PLUS in a thin, even layer using a roller.
  • Wait about 30 minutes before continuing.

This ensures proper adhesion on terrazzo, marble or tile.

4. Build the base with microcement

Now it’s time for Smart Base:

  • Apply two very thin coats (under 1 mm each).
  • Spread with the Smart Roller and smooth with the trowel at a 45° angle.
  • Allow around 6 hours of drying between coats.
  • Sand between coats with grit 40 and clean the dust.

This stage evens out the surface and softens the depth of the original joints.

5. Create the final texture

Your finishing microcement, Smart Medio, adds resistance and character:

  • Again, apply two thin coats (under 0.5 mm).
  • Same technique: roller to spread, trowel to refine.
  • Light sanding with grit 80 between coats.
  • Leave around 6 hours of drying time between layers.

The floor becomes smooth, continuous and beautifully textured.

6. Seal and protect the surface

To keep the colour and texture intact, apply the varnish system:

  • Mix Smart Varnish with Smart Booster.
  • Apply 3 coats with a roller.
  • Allow roughly 4 hours between coats.
  • After the first and second coats, lightly sand with grit 400.

Choose matt or satin depending on the look you want.

7. Before you enjoy the result… be patient

The floor may look ready, but it’s still curing inside:

  • Walk carefully: after 48–72 hours.
  • Normal use and moving light furniture: after 7 days.

That’s when the system reaches full strength.
