This solution is designed to renovate jointed surfaces (tiles, mosaic, floor tiles…) without removing them. Check these four points before choosing size and colour.

Compatible surface

Surfaces with stable joints: tiles, mosaic, floor tiles, terrazzo or marble. This is not the right kit for plaster, drywall or cement substrates.

Coverage

Measure the height × width of each surface. The calculator adds a 10% margin and recommends the right kit size, or a combination for larger projects.

What's included

Joint filler, primer, microcement base coats, finish, varnish, additive and sandpaper: the complete layer-by-layer system.

What you need separately

Sealer roller, polycarbonate trowel and basic tools. You can find them in microcement tools.

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 15 days from receipt for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and you will need the invoice to process it. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

You’ve got the plan. You’ve got the motivation. Now you’ve also got the perfect microcement kit to cover up to 8 m² of tiled stairs—whatever their shape or twist. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a continuous, anti-slip finish that stands the test of time (and a lot of feet):

1 Smart Jointer 1.5 Kg: to fill joints and create a smooth, even base.
1 Smart Primer Plus 1 L: primer that ensures perfect adhesion on non-absorbent surfaces.
1 Smart Base 16 Kg: base microcement. Body, grip and colour in one.
1 Smart Medio 8 Kg: finishing microcement with uniform, anti-slip texture.
1 Smart Varnish 2 L: water-based sealer. Go for matte or satin—it’s your call.
1 Smart Booster 100 g: mix it with the varnish for extra hardness and chemical resistance.
Sanding discs: 6 of grit 40, 10 of grit 80, and 6 of grit 400.

Application

How to apply the 8 m² microcement kit for tiled stairs

Your stairs are screaming for a makeover. And this kit has the perfect formula to take things to the next level—literally. With the ready-to-use microcement kit for 8 m² of tiled stairs, you’ll give them a modern, continuous, anti-slip finish that’s tough enough for everyday use. No construction, no stress, no professionals needed.

The best part? You do it yourself—even if it’s your first time. It also works on marble, terrazzo, vinyl or porcelain stairs. Just pick your colour, choose your finish and get ready to show off those new steps. You’ll be walking up and down just for fun!

1. Clean and check

Remove dust, grease and any dirt. Make sure your stair treads are level, well bonded and in good condition.

2. Joints, be gone

Fill the joints with a layer of Smart Jointer. This gives you a flat, smooth base from the get-go. Let it dry for 24 hours and gently sand with grit 40.

3. Prime for success

Apply one coat of Smart Primer Plus. It bonds the surface to the microcement. Let it sit for 30 minutes.

4. Strong base coat

Apply two coats of Smart Base. First with the Smart Roller, then smooth with a trowel at a 45° angle. Wait 6 hours between coats and sand with grit 40. Now we’re talking.

5. The final touch: Smart Medio to the rescue

Finish strong with two coats of Smart Medio. This microcement creates the anti-slip texture your stairs need. Sand with grit 80 between coats. Wait 6 hours between layers and follow the same process: roller + trowel. Safe, stylish, solid.

6. Full protection

Mix Smart Booster with Smart Varnish and apply 3 coats of sealer. Let it dry for 4 hours between coats and sand with grit 400 after the first and second. Choose matte or satin finish, and voilà—stairs ready for anything!

🧠 Smart Tips for flawless microcement stairs:

✔️ Use the trowel at a 45° angle—no more, no less. That’s the secret to an even, streak-free texture.
✔️ Always apply thin layers. Less is more with microcement.
✔️ Sand gently by hand. Power sanders can overheat and damage the finish.
✔️ Try our polycarbonate trowel (not included in the kit)—it won’t burn the surface or leave scratches.
✔️ Real anti-slip: the finish isn’t just pretty, it’s safe too. Perfect for dashing up barefoot… or in socks. Good things take time: let the varnish cure fully before testing its full strength (after 7 days).
