This solution is designed to renovate jointed surfaces (tiles, mosaic, floor tiles…) without removing them. Check these four points before choosing size and colour.

Compatible surface

Surfaces with stable joints: tiles, mosaic, floor tiles, terrazzo or marble. This is not the right kit for plaster, drywall or cement substrates.

Coverage

Measure the height × width of each surface. The calculator adds a 10% margin and recommends the right kit size, or a combination for larger projects.

What's included

Joint filler, primer, microcement base coats, finish, varnish, additive and sandpaper: the complete layer-by-layer system.

What you need separately

Sealer roller, polycarbonate trowel and basic tools. You can find them in microcement tools.

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 15 days from receipt for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and you will need the invoice to process it. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

You decide how far you want to take your staircase makeover. Whether it’s your main staircase or a hidden one, this ready-to-use microcement kit is designed to cover up to 16 m² of tiled, terrazzo or porcelain steps—and leave them looking brand new.

The best part? You don’t have to remove a single tile. In no time, you’ll be walking on a seamless, non-slip staircase with that modern Smartcret finish that changes everything.

Here’s what’s inside:

2 x Smart Jointer 1.5 Kg – to fill joints and create a level base.
2 x Smart Primer Plus 1 L – primer that ensures great adhesion on non-absorbent surfaces.
2 x Smart Base 16 Kg – preparation microcement that adds body and strength.
1 x Smart Medio 16 Kg – fine-textured, non-slip finishing microcement.

Step-by-step guide to applying the 16 m² microcement kit for tiled stairs: rise and shine

Big stairs deserve an epic makeover too. This ready-to-use microcement kit gives you everything (including the confidence) to transform up to 16 m² of tiled, terrazzo, marble or porcelain steps all by yourself. The result? A seamless, modern, non-slip surface… crafted with your own hands.

Here’s the step-by-step to take your stairs to the next level:

1. Clean and prep the surface

Say goodbye to dust, grease and silicone residue. Check that all steps are secure, level and crack-free. A solid base is key.

2. Say goodbye to grout lines

Apply Smart Jointer to cover the joints and get a smooth surface. Let it dry for 24 h and gently sand with 40-grit sandpaper.

3. Prime time

Apply a layer of Smart Primer Plus to ensure proper adhesion. Let it dry for 30 minutes before moving on.

4. Time for the base: things are getting real

Apply two thin coats of Smart Base using the Smart Roller and smooth it out with a trowel at a 45° angle. Let each coat dry for 6 h and sand with 40-grit. You’ll already start seeing the transformation.

5. Sleek, non-slip finish

Apply two coats of Smart Medio: fine texture, safe grip and a continuous, jointless look. Sand with 80-grit between coats and respect the 6 h drying time. Thin, even layers—always.

6. Protection that lasts (and lasts)

Mix Smart Booster with Smart Varnish and apply three coats. Let each layer dry for 4 h and sand the first two with 400-grit. Choose matte or satin finish and get ready to show off those stairs.

✔️ Thin coats rule: less is more when applying microcement.
✔️ Hand sanding only: take your time and enjoy it. Power sanders might damage the finish.

✔️ The grip is real: perfect for climbing in socks or a rush. Just wait 7 days after varnishing for full cure—and then walk tall.
