Sometimes, you do not need a major renovation to feel like you have a brand-new bathroom. In fact, with the right products, renovating your existing bathroom floor can be much easier than you might think.

With this ready-to-use microcement kit for up to 4 m², you can transform your bathroom floor on absorbent surfaces such as cement, concrete or mortar in just a few days. No tearing up the floor, no complicated building work and no need to hire a professional. And no, you do not need any previous experience applying microcement.

You will achieve a clean, modern finish that is resistant to water and bathroom humidity. To get the best result, the surface must be firm, clean, dry and in good condition before you start.

Inside the kit, you will find everything you need to prepare, coat and protect your floor step by step:

• 1 Smart Primer ABS 0.5 L: water-based acrylic primer. It helps improve adhesion between the absorbent surface and the microcement, while also regulating surface absorption for a more even application.
• 1 Smart Base 8 kg: ready-to-use preparation microcement. This colored product has a coarser grain and is applied as the base layer of the system to add consistency and prepare the surface before the final finish. It is not the decorative final layer.
• 1 Smart Liso 3 kg: ready-to-use finishing microcement. This colored product has a finer grain and is applied after Smart Base. It is responsible for the final look of the microcement: a smoother, seamless and more elegant surface.
• 1 Smart Varnish 1 L: ready-to-use water-based polyurethane varnish. It seals and protects the microcement against wear, abrasion and the usual contact with water in a bathroom. It also helps enhance the color of the new surface. Available in matt and satin finishes.
• 1 Smart Booster 50 g: component B, added to the varnish to reinforce the final protection, providing greater hardness and improved resistance to chemicals and abrasion.
• Sanding discs: included for sanding the different layers during the application process. The kit includes 3 sanding discs in grit 40, 5 sanding discs in grit 220 and 3 sanding discs in grit 400.

📌 At Smartcret, you will also find a tool kit for applying microcement. It is not included in this ready-to-use kit, but we highly recommend it for achieving a better result. It includes essential tools such as rollers, trays, protective masking tape and a polycarbonate trowel, designed to help you apply each product with more comfort, precision and confidence.

Recommended uses of this kit

This kit is designed for small guest toilets and bathrooms with absorbent surfaces. You can apply it on substrates such as:

• Cement.
• Concrete.
• Mortar.

This kit is not designed for application over tiles, stoneware, porcelain, marble or terrazzo. If your current floor is made from one of these materials, you will need a kit for non-absorbent surfaces.

How to apply the 4 m² microcement kit for absorbent bathroom floors

Applying microcement for the first time can feel a little intimidating, especially when it is your only bathroom. But we promise: you do not need previous experience to start off on the right foot. Our customers’ experience backs this up.

The key is to follow the right order, prepare the surface properly and respect the drying times between coats.

Your absorbent bathroom floor has far more potential than it may seem. Where you now see cement or concrete, there will soon be a modern, seamless surface with that microcement effect that completely changes the feel of the space. 1. Cleaning and first decisions

Before opening any product, it is time to prepare the surface. Remove dust, clean the floor thoroughly and make sure it is dry, firm, level and in good condition.

If there are cracks, dents, loose areas or rising damp, they must be repaired before applying the microcement. A good result starts long before the first coat.

2. Prime it to win it

Apply an even coat of Smart Primer ABS to the floor. This primer is designed for absorbent surfaces and helps prepare the substrate so the microcement can adhere properly.

Leave it to dry for the time indicated and get ready, because this is where the transformation officially begins.

3. Base with character

Now it is time for Smart Base, the preparation microcement. This stage gives structure to the system, helps even out the surface and gets the floor ready for the final finish.

Apply two thin coats, respecting the drying times between them. Spread the product carefully, smooth it with the trowel at the right angle and sand when required to soften the surface before moving on.

This is where your floor starts to stop being “what was there before” and becomes “what you had in mind”.

4. A signature finish

Now comes the most visual part: Smart Liso. This is the finishing microcement, responsible for the colour you have chosen, the final texture and that characteristic seamless look.

Apply two thin coats, sand gently between coats and enjoy the moment when your bathroom starts to look like a completely different space. Texture can be seen as much as it is felt.

5. Protection for everyday life

Your new floor deserves to be well protected. Mix Smart Booster with Smart Varnish and apply the three coats of varnish indicated to seal the microcement and reinforce its resistance to daily use, cleaning and the usual contact with water in a bathroom.

You can choose between a matt or satin finish, depending on the style you want to achieve. More natural and understated, or with an extra touch of light. You decide.

Smart tips for a better result

✔️ Thin coats, always. Applying too much product does not improve the result; it can create ridges, marks, uneven areas and those dreaded cracks.

✔️ The trowel matters. Working at the correct angle helps control the final texture. The wrong angle — anything other than 45º — or a trowel that burns the product can affect the finish. The Smartcret trowel is designed to prevent this.

✔️ The right tools make a difference. The Smartcret tool kit is not included in this kit, but we highly recommend it. Using tools that have not been tested by Smartcret or are of lower quality can affect the result, and not exactly for the better.

✔️ Sand by hand and with care. The sanding discs included are designed for manual sanding. Using an electric sander can create too much friction and affect the microcement finish.

✔️ Respect the timing. Microcement is not about rushing; it is about doing it properly. Let each coat dry according to the guide and avoid using the bathroom too soon.
