• 1 Smart Varnish 2 L: ready-to-use water-based polyurethane varnish. It seals and protects the microcement against wear, abrasion, cleaning and the usual contact with water in the bathroom. It also helps enhance the colour of the coating. Available in matt or satin finish.
• 1 Smart Booster 100 g: component B, added to the varnish to reinforce the final protection, improve hardness and increase resistance to chemicals and abrasion.
• Sanding discs: included for working the different coats during application. You will find 6 sanding discs in grit 40, 10 sanding discs in grit 220 and 6 sanding discs in grit 400.

This kit is designed to renovate bathroom floors on absorbent surfaces of up to 8 m². In other words, surfaces that allow the primer and the microcement system to be applied correctly.

How to apply the 8 m² microcement kit for absorbent bathroom floors

Renovating 8 m² of bathroom floor with microcement is not about rushing. It is about preparing the space properly, following the right order and working each coat calmly. The good news is that you do not need previous experience: you just need to understand the process, have the right tools and keep the guide close so you do not have to improvise.

1. Prepare the floor before you start

Before opening any product, check the entire surface. The floor must be clean, dry, firm, level and in good condition. Remove dust, clean away any dirt and make sure there are no loose areas, cracks, dents or rising damp.

The better the surface is prepared, the easier it will be to apply the following coats and achieve an even result.

2. Apply Smart Primer ABS

Apply an even coat of Smart Primer ABS over the floor. This primer helps prepare the absorbent surface and improves the adhesion of the microcement.

It is the first real step in the transformation. It may not be the most visible one, but it is one of the steps that most influences how well everything else works. Leave to dry for 30 minutes.

3. Create a good base with Smart Base

After the primer, apply Smart Base in two thin coats. This preparation microcement helps even out the surface and creates the base for the final finish. Leave each coat to dry for 6 hours and sand with grit 40 sandpaper.

Work in sections, without applying too much product, and keep the application consistent. First with the Smart Roller, then smoothing with the trowel. The key is to move forward with control: thin, well-managed coats are better than trying to cover too much at once.

4. Create the finish with Smart Liso

Now comes the moment when the floor really starts to change. Smart Liso provides the chosen colour, the final texture and that seamless finish that visually transforms the bathroom.

Apply two thin coats, leave 6 hours between them, gently sand each one with grit 220 sandpaper and take care of the details. This is where the most aesthetic part of the result is built, so it is worth taking your time.

5. Protect the result with Smart Varnish and Smart Booster

Once the microcement has been applied, it is time to protect it. Mix Smart Booster with Smart Varnish and apply three coats to reinforce its resistance to daily use, cleaning and the usual contact with water in the bathroom.

You can choose a matt or satin finish depending on the effect you want to achieve: more natural and understated, or with an extra touch of light.

Foolproof tips

✔️ Organise everything before you start. Have the products, tools and guide ready so you do not have to stop halfway through the application.

✔️ Work with thin coats. Applying too much product can create marks, ridges, uneven areas and cracks.

✔️ Use the right trowel. Keeping the correct angle helps control the final texture and avoid unwanted marks.

✔️ Sand by hand and with care. The sanding discs included are designed for manual sanding. An electric sander can create too much friction and affect the finish.

✔️ Respect the drying times. Microcement needs its own rhythm. Let each coat dry according to the guide and avoid using the bathroom too soon. The varnish reaches its full performance after 7 days.
