Description

What’s included in the microcement kit for absorbent kitchen walls, 4 m²?

Your kitchen is just one box away from a serious style upgrade. This kit includes everything you need to renovate up to 4 m² of absorbent kitchen walls and achieve a seamless, modern finish ready for everyday life: cooking, splashes, quick dinners and all.

The microcement comes ready to use: no mixing components, no calculating ratios and no adding pigments. The colour is already prepared at the factory, so you can focus on applying it, enjoying the process and showing off the result. DIY renovation, yes. Kitchen chemistry lab, no thanks.

Includes:

  • 1 Smart Primer ABS 0.5 L: water-based acrylic primer designed to prepare absorbent surfaces. It helps improve adhesion between the substrate and the microcement, while also evening out absorption on walls such as plasterboard, plaster, drywall, stucco, cement, concrete or mortar.
  • 1 Smart Base 8 kg: ready-to-use preparation microcement. It comes already coloured and has a coarser grain size. It is applied as a base layer to give consistency to the system before the final finish.
  • 1 Smart Liso 3 kg: ready-to-use finishing microcement. Also coloured and ready to apply, its finer grain helps create that smooth, seamless and soft-looking finish that makes your kitchen feel completely renewed without traditional building work.
  • 1 Smart Varnish 1 L: ready-to-use water-based polyurethane varnish, available in matt or satin finish. It seals and protects the microcement against everyday use, helping preserve the colour and appearance of the new surface.
  • 1 Smart Booster 50 g: special component added to the varnish to reinforce protection in demanding areas such as front kitchen walls or backsplashes. A very useful extra where steam, splashes, frequent cleaning and real kitchen life all come together.
  • Sanding discs: included for sanding between coats. The kit contains 3 sanding discs grit 40, 5 sanding discs grit 220 and 3 sanding discs grit 400.

All products are water-based, making them more comfortable to apply at home and a more considerate choice for an indoor DIY renovation, with no unnecessary odours and no need to turn your kitchen into a major building site.

📌 Important: application tools are not included in this kit. To apply the microcement correctly, you will need accessories such as rollers, trays, protective masking tape and a polycarbonate trowel. At Smartcret, you can also find the Smart Tools application kit to make sure you have everything ready before you start.

Uses

Designed for absorbent kitchen walls: including backsplashes and front kitchen walls

This microcement kit for absorbent kitchen walls is designed to transform up to 4 m², including those front areas that face the real action every day: splashes, steam, stains and the occasional little cooking “oops”.

Thanks to Smart Booster, the varnish gets extra protection for these types of areas, helping you create a decorative, seamless surface ready for the rhythm of a kitchen that is truly lived in.

It is ideal for absorbent walls such as plasterboard, plaster, drywall, stucco, cement, concrete or mortar, as the kit includes Smart Primer ABS, the primer that prepares the surface before applying the microcement.

And the best part: you can renovate your kitchen walls without removing the existing surface, without filling every drawer with dust and without any previous experience. A DIY renovation to change the look of your kitchen with your own hands — and then say, with every right in the world: “I did this myself.”

Application

How to apply the microcement kit for absorbent kitchen walls, 4 m²

Now is the time to go from “this wall needs a change” to “wow, I actually created this kitchen myself”. With this step-by-step guide, you will see how to transform an absorbent kitchen wall — including the backsplash or front wall area — into a seamless, modern surface ready for everyday life.

You do not need complicated building work or professional experience: simply follow the order, respect the drying times and let each layer do its job. The kitchen sets the scene. You bring it to life.

1. Prepare the wall: grease is not invited

Before opening the kit, make sure the surface is clean, dry, firm and free from dust, grease or dirt residues. On a kitchen wall, this step is especially important, as walls can accumulate steam, splashes and residues that may affect adhesion.

If there are cracks, dents, loose areas or imperfections, repair them before you start. Also protect worktops, furniture, sockets and edges with protective masking tape. Your future self, the one cleaning afterwards, will thank you.

2. Apply Smart Primer ABS to the absorbent wall

Apply an even coat of Smart Primer ABS to the wall. This water-based acrylic primer prepares absorbent surfaces such as plasterboard, plaster, drywall, stucco, cement, concrete or mortar.

Its function is to improve the adhesion of the microcement and help make surface absorption more uniform. Leave it to dry for 30 minutes before continuing.

3. Create the base with Smart Base

Apply two coats of Smart Base to prepare the substrate and give consistency to the system. First spread the product with Smart Roller, then smooth it with a trowel, keeping an approximate 45° angle.

Respect 6 hours of drying time between coats and sand with grit 40. This is the stage where the old wall starts to disappear and the path is prepared for that seamless finish that suits modern kitchens so well.

4. Apply the finish with Smart Liso

Apply two coats of Smart Liso to achieve a finer, smoother and more decorative surface. This product provides the visible microcement finish and the seamless effect that completely changes the look of your kitchen without removing tiles or getting into traditional building work.

Sand between coats, after 6 hours of drying time, with grit 220 and always work with thin layers. With microcement, using too much product is not DIY enthusiasm: it is making life harder than it needs to be.

5. Protect the kitchen front wall or backsplash with Smart Varnish + Smart Booster

A kitchen wall has a busy life: steam, splashes, frequent cleaning and areas that need extra protection. That is why the final sealing step is key, especially on front kitchen walls or backsplashes.

Mix Smart Booster with Smart Varnish and apply 3 coats of varnish. Leave 4 hours of drying time between coats and sand with grit 400 between the first and second coat to improve the finish. You can choose between a matt or satin finish, depending on the style you want for your kitchen.

Important: the varnish reaches its maximum mechanical and chemical resistance from the seventh day after application has been completed.

🧠 Smart tips for a kitchen wall that looks brand new

✔️ Keep the trowel at around 45° to better control the texture and finish.

✔️ Apply thin coats. Less product means more control and a lower risk of cracking.

✔️ Use our anti-burn trowel to avoid black marks or unattractive scratches.

✔️ Always sand by hand with the sanding discs included. An electric sander may create too much friction and affect the microcement.

✔️ Respect the drying times. In a beautiful kitchen, patience is also part of the recipe.
