At 12 m² you are no longer talking about a single stretch of wall, but a room treated from skirting to ceiling. This Smart Kit covers that vertical area on plasterboard, plaster, cement or wood, and replaces paint with a finish that lasts far longer and is easier to clean.

The metres are enough for one or two complete walls, with material to spare for finishing the furniture in the same room — a sideboard, a built-in shelf, a run of bench seating — and for covering the front of fireplaces. Having the furniture and the wall share shade and texture is exactly what produces the effect of continuous space.

Inside is what a wall system asks for: the primer that evens out how much the surface draws in, the finishing microcement already coloured, fine-grained and silky to the touch, the water-based varnish that seals the colour and protects the surface, and the finishing sanding discs. Ready to use, in matt or satin, with no building work, no rubble and no need to hire a professional.

Everything you need to know before you start

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

What the Smart Microcement Kit 12 m² · walls, furniture and fireplaces · plasterboard, cement or wood contains

The ready-to-use Smart Microcement Kit covers 12 m² and renews interior walls, furniture and fireplaces.

It is suitable for porous surfaces: plasterboard, plaster, cement, concrete, mortar and wood.

As it is a ready-to-use surface finish, it needs no prior preparation of the material and no professional to step in; you can apply it on your own.

The 12 m² Smart Microcement Kit for walls, furniture and fireplaces contains:

  • 2 Smart Primer ABS 1 L: water-based acrylic primer. It aids adhesion between the surface and the microcement and regulates the behaviour of porous surfaces so that consumption is even.
  • 2 Smart Liso 6 kg: ready-to-use microcement, pigmented in the shade chosen by the customer. Its finely grained texture gives a soft, smooth finish that is silky to the touch.
  • 1 Smart Varnish 2 L: water-based polyurethane varnish. Ready to use, it seals and protects the microcement against traffic, water and so on. It also has the particular quality of bringing out the colour of the surface. Available in matt and satin.
  • Sanding discs: you will find 12 grit 220 discs and 6 grit 400 discs.

The tools are not included in this kit. For an optimal result you will need rollers, a tray, protective masking tape, a sanding glove and a polycarbonate trowel, all available in the Smartcret tool kit.

Application

Application of the Smart Microcement Kit for Walls - Covers 12 m²

  1. Ensure the area is free from cracks, dents, or similar imperfections. Once checked and/or repaired if necessary, make sure it is clean and grease-free. When completely dry, it is advisable to mark the boundaries of the area to be treated with masking tape.
  2. Prepare the surface for treatment. Use a roller to apply a layer of Smart Primer ABS, making sure to shake the product before use. Let it dry for 30 minutes.
  3. Application of microcement. Spread a thin layer of Smart Liso (less than 0.5 mm) over the entire surface with the Smart Roller, starting vertically first and then horizontally. Next, use the trowel at a 45º angle to smooth the surface with arcing movements in various directions until it is completely smooth. Allow each layer to dry for at least 6 hours and sand with 220-grit sandpaper after each layer has dried. Apply a total of 3 layers of Smart Liso. Finally, carefully remove the masking tape and we recommend letting the surface rest for 24 hours after the last application for best results.
  4. Reapply the masking tape and apply 3 layers of Smart Varnish with a roller. Remove the masking tape immediately after application or after it is completely dry. Allow 4 hours of drying time between layers. Sand the first and second layers with 400 grit sandpaper. Finally, to ensure perfect curing, let it dry for 7 days.

*Important: a 45º angle with the trowel is essential when applying microcement. Otherwise, the finish may not meet expectations. To avoid damaging the material and affecting its appearance, keep in mind that the sandpaper grits included in this kit are specifically designed for manual sanding. If too much pressure is applied with an electric sander, it is very likely that the microcement will burn and dark stains will appear on the walls. Also if a trowel other than the Smartcret trowel (included in the tool kit) is used.
