What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 14 days from delivery for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and your order number is enough for us. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

Smart Microcement Kit for Walls Content- Covers 12 m²

With the ready-to-use Smart Microcement Kit for walls that covers up to 12m², you can renew your interior walls made of drywall, plaster, cement, or concrete in no time!

Completely transform those surfaces that need it in the blink of an eye. Since it’s ready to use, it requires no prior preparation or professionals—you can apply it yourself! If you haven't tried no-mess renovations yet, now is the time to do it!

The Smart Microcement Kit for walls that covers 12 m² contains:

2 Smart Primer ABS 1 L: Water-based acrylic primer. This product is designed to improve the adhesion between the substrate and the microcement, ensuring even absorption across the entire surface.
2 Smart Liso 6 kg: Ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product has a fine granule size and is responsible for providing the uniform, smooth, and soft aesthetics of the microcement.
1 Smart Varnish 2 L: Water-based polyurethane varnish. Ready-to-use, it seals and protects the microcement from traffic, water, etc. It also enhances the color of the coating. Available in matte and satin finishes.
Sanding discs: You'll find twelve 220-grit sandpapers, and six 400-grit sandpapers

Please note that Smartcret offers a separate toolkit for applying microcement, which is not included in this ready-to-use microcement Smart Kit but is necessary for correctly applying the products. These tools include rollers, a tray, protective masking tape, and a polycarbonate trowel.

Application

Application of the Smart Microcement Kit for Walls - Covers 12 m²

Ensure the area is free from cracks, dents, or similar imperfections. Once checked and/or repaired if necessary, make sure it is clean and grease-free. When completely dry, it is advisable to mark the boundaries of the area to be treated with masking tape.
Prepare the surface for treatment. Use a roller to apply a layer of Smart Primer ABS, making sure to shake the product before use. Let it dry for 30 minutes.
Application of microcement. Spread a thin layer of Smart Liso (less than 0.5 mm) over the entire surface with the Smart Roller, starting vertically first and then horizontally. Next, use the trowel at a 45º angle to smooth the surface with arcing movements in various directions until it is completely smooth. Allow each layer to dry for at least 6 hours and sand with 220-grit sandpaper after each layer has dried. Apply a total of 3 layers of Smart Liso. Finally, carefully remove the masking tape and we recommend letting the surface rest for 24 hours after the last application for best results.
Reapply the masking tape and apply 3 layers of Smart Varnish with a roller. Remove the masking tape immediately after application or after it is completely dry. Allow 4 hours of drying time between layers. Sand the first and second layers with 400 grit sandpaper. Finally, to ensure perfect curing, let it dry for 7 days.

*Important: a 45º angle with the trowel is essential when applying microcement. Otherwise, the finish may not meet expectations. To avoid damaging the material and affecting its appearance, keep in mind that the sandpaper grits included in this kit are specifically designed for manual sanding. If too much pressure is applied with an electric sander, it is very likely that the microcement will burn and dark stains will appear on the walls. Also if a trowel other than the Smartcret trowel (included in the tool kit) is used.
