Everything you need to know before you start

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

Yes: you have 14 days from receipt for exchanges and returns. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense and you will need the invoice to process it. See the full conditions.

Is it right for my surface?

Each kit is formulated for a specific project and surface: you will find it in the kit name and in the line with ✓ above the coverage selector. If your surface is different (for example, plasterboard instead of tiles), use the assistant at the top and we will take you to the right kit. First repair any loose piece, active crack or damp problem.

Super Microcement Kit for Walls Content - Covers 18 m²

Our complete ready-to-use and pigmented Super Microcement Kit for walls that measure up to 18 m² includes all the essential materials to start that home renovation you've been postponing for so long.

With top-quality products, you'll achieve a professional-worthy finish on your vertical surfaces of drywall, plaster, cement, or concrete, among other seamless surfaces, even if you're not a professional.

The Super Microcement Kit for walls to cover up to 18m2 contains:

  • 2 Smart Primer ABS 1 L: Water-based acrylic primer. This product is designed to improve the adhesion between the substrate and the microcement, ensuring even absorption across the entire surface.
  • 3 Smart Liso 6 kg: Ready-to-use microcement. This pigmented product has a fine granule size and is responsible for providing the uniform, smooth, and soft aesthetics of the microcement.
  • 2 Smart Varnish 2 L: Water-based polyurethane varnish. Ready-to-use, it seals and protects the microcement from traffic, water, etc. It also enhances the color of the coating. Available in matte and satin finishes.
  • Sanding discs: You'll find eighteen 220-grit sandpapers, and nine 400-grit sandpapers

Please note that Smartcret offers a separate toolkit for applying microcement, which is not included in this ready-to-use microcement Super Kit but is necessary for correctly applying the products. These tools include rollers, a tray, protective masking tape, and a polycarbonate trowel.

Application

Application of the Super Microcement Kit for Walls - Covers 18 m²

  1. Ensure the area is free from cracks, dents, or similar imperfections. Once checked and/or repaired if necessary, make sure it is clean and grease-free. When completely dry, it is advisable to mark the boundaries of the area to be treated with masking tape.
  2. Prepare the surface for treatment. Use a roller to apply a layer of Smart Primer ABS, making sure to shake the product before use. Let it dry for 30 minutes.
  3. Application of microcement. Spread a thin layer of Smart Liso (less than 0.5 mm) over the entire surface with the Smart Roller, starting vertically first and then horizontally. Next, use the trowel at a 45º angle to smooth the surface with arcing movements in various directions until it is completely smooth. Allow each layer to dry for at least 6 hours and sand with 220-grit sandpaper after each layer has dried. Apply a total of 3 layers of Smart Liso. Finally, carefully remove the masking tape and we recommend letting the surface rest for 24 hours after the last application for best results.
  4. Reapply the masking tape and apply 3 layers of Smart Varnish with a roller. Remove the masking tape immediately after application or after it is completely dry. Allow 4 hours of drying time between layers. Sand the first and second layers with 400 grit sandpaper. Finally, to ensure perfect curing, let it dry for 7 days.
  5. *Important: to avoid defects in the application of Smartcret microcement, our trowel should be used at an angle of 45º, as marks may appear on the walls if it is applied with another angle and another trowel. Likewise, using an electric sander to sand the layers may burn the microcement on the walls due to excessive friction. The sandpaper grits included in this kit are designed for manual sanding.
