One accent wall changes a whole room, and you need no more than that. This Mini Kit carries material for 6 m² of vertical surface on plasterboard, plaster, cement or wood: the headboard wall, the end wall of the living room or the face of a corridor.

With those 6 m² you are not limited to walls. There is enough to clad furniture, to cover the tops of tables and sideboards and give them a solid look, and to wrap the front of fireplaces, which is where microcement really shines because it covers corners and edges with no cuts and no joins. Wooden pieces take the same treatment as the wall.

The kit is a wall system, short and direct: the primer that evens out how much the surface draws in, the finishing microcement already pigmented in your chosen shade — fine in texture, smooth and soft to the touch — the water-based polyurethane varnish that seals and protects, and the finishing sanding discs. All ready to use, with nothing to tint or mix, and no rubble and no labour.

Everything you need to know before you start

What’s included and what do I need separately?

The kit includes all the Smartcret system products needed for your surface and your square metres: you will find them detailed one by one, with their quantities, in the ‘Description’ tab below. You will also need a sealer roller, a polycarbonate trowel and basic protection and application tools. The microcement comes ready to use, already pigmented; only the final coat of varnish is mixed with its booster.

How do I choose the coverage?

Measure the surface to be covered: for walls, width × height of each section; for floors, worktops or furniture, length × width of each face. Subtract only large openings, add up the total and add a 10% margin. Choose the kit whose m² is equal to or greater than the result; if in doubt between two, go for the larger one. You can also use the calculator in the selector.

How long does the project take?

The full project takes 3 days. The varnish reaches full cure from 7 days.

Can I return or exchange the kit?

The ready-to-use Mini Microcement Kit covers 6 m² and contains everything needed to renew interior walls, furniture, tables and fireplaces.

It is formulated for porous surfaces: plasterboard, plaster, cement, concrete, mortar and wood.

As it is a ready-to-use surface finish, you need no building permit and no professional, and no previous experience either: the process is designed to be resolved from start to finish on small areas.

The 6 m² Mini Microcement Kit for walls, furniture, tables and fireplaces contains:

  • 1 Smart Primer ABS 1 L: water-based acrylic primer. It aids adhesion between the surface and the microcement and regulates the behaviour of porous surfaces so that consumption is even.
  • 1 Smart Liso 6Kg: ready-to-use microcement, pigmented in the shade chosen by the customer. Its finely grained texture gives a soft, smooth finish that is silky to the touch.
  • 1 Smart Varnish 1 L: water-based polyurethane varnish. Ready to use, it seals and protects the microcement against traffic, water and so on. It also has the particular quality of bringing out the colour of the surface. Available in matt and satin.
  • Sanding discs: you will find 6 grit 220 discs and 3 grit 400 discs.

The tools are not included in this kit. For an optimal result you will need rollers, a tray, protective masking tape, a sanding glove and a polycarbonate trowel, all available in the Smartcret tool kit.

Application

Application of the Mini Microcement Kit for Walls - Covers 6 m²

  1. Ensure the area is free from cracks, dents, or similar imperfections. Once checked and/or repaired if necessary, make sure it is clean and grease-free. When completely dry, it is advisable to mark the boundaries of the area to be treated with masking tape.
  2. Prepare the surface for treatment. Use a roller to apply a layer of Smart Primer ABS, making sure to shake the product before use. Let it dry for 30 minutes.
  3. Application of microcement. Spread a thin layer of Smart Liso (less than 0.5 mm) over the entire surface with the Smart Roller, starting vertically first and then horizontally. Next, use the trowel at a 45º angle to smooth the surface with arcing movements in various directions until it is completely smooth. Allow each layer to dry for at least 6 hours and sand with 220-grit sandpaper after each layer has dried. Apply a total of 3 layers of Smart Liso. Finally, carefully remove the masking tape and we recommend letting the surface rest for 24 hours after the last application for best results.
  4. Reapply the masking tape and apply 3 layers of Smart Varnish with a roller. Remove the masking tape immediately after application or after it is completely dry. Allow 4 hours of drying time between layers. Sand the first and second layers with 400 grit sandpaper. Finally, to ensure perfect curing, let it dry for 7 days.

*Important: to apply Smartcret microcement correctly, the trowel must be kept at a 45º angle. If not, the final finish may differ from the desired result. It may also be affected if a trowel other than the one included in our tool kit is purchased. For a proper application process, we recommend manual sanding only. The sandpaper grits are designed for this purpose. Using an electric sander carries the risk of generating excessive friction and burning the microcement.
